I'm still congested and miserable today. I'm planning on a nice slow walk around the block, which is a mile. The air is cold and I'm hoping it will help clear my head.

Exercise so far has been : this a.m. helping dh drag branches that have been downed by the wind/ice in recent months. Then throwing them into a big pile for burning. It's too windy to even think about that right now tho. Then this p.m. I helped him load fire wood onto the pickup --for our campfires during our trailride later this month. A tree had fallen and he cut it up while I loaded it. Thankgoodness he did cut it small enough for me to load. The really big pieces he did himself.
We plan to go for a walk later this evening so all in all a pretty good day--lots of exercise and we accomplished something too.

:p I'm still slacking today, dear Shadow. I daresay I'll be at the gym tomorrow.
Karole, you dragging branches makes me think of Puddin. :)
Carry on, troops! :D
Hey I didn't slack. 45 minutes of cardio. Always glad I did it, but I sure don't enjoy the first 10 or 15 minutes. Anybody else like that?
Karole

Hope you will be feeling great by tomorrow Carol. --All the while I was dragging those branches I was thinking of Puddin and her olive tree branches. Also about all the news from Italy about the Quake. How sad it is.

Carol - Since you have a "sick pass" I'll let you have one more day ;).
Hi Nam and welcome :)! I do not like cardio at all. I do it, but ..... Weights are far more to my liking. I'm just thankful I know weights are most important and I don't have to kill myself over cardio like I used to :p.
Karole - What an awesome day you had !!!! You rock!

Y'all,
Shadow, I will confess, I have been slacking, I'm ready for the wet noodle.
I am in cold Boston today and tomarrow at business meetings for work.
My cardio will be brisk walking in the cold to the meetings near the hotel, then to dinner later. This am, I did Callenetics from memory.
Will see you later....

I don't know, Karole, but it does seem you like to torment yourself . I'd far rather get it done first thing in the AM before I'm too awake to know what I'm doing to myself :p. But even if you did hesitate in getting it done, it was a great workout once you did it :D!

Weights and then snow shovels to boot. Wow. No wonder they let you carry that big whip around !!:D
Just kidding-- I think the shoveling would have done me in, let alone any other heavy stuff. Good job--showing us how its done.

Upper body resistance today. I FINALLY order a set of resistance bands, so should be able to develop an even better routine when they arrive.

Well, I try. But you've got to remember I've been doing this for years, so... Once you're able to go heavier on your weights, you'll soon find yourself being able to do both the same day, too ;).

That's awesome, Sandy! Bands are definitely great tools and can hits the muscles in an entirely different way than machines or dumbbells can !

Did my Tae Bo this morning. A couple of weeks ago I started doubling up on the parts that I can do well to get more of a workout. But on some of the leg moves I've only been doing half of the routine.
e.g., knee raises on the tape are:
1. lift
2. lift . . . etc.
I've been doing them:
1. lift
2. down . . . etc.
Today I did them as shown. Still not really well, with a little hand assist (I'm not sure if you can picture that :D) but nevertheless . . .
In other words, I had a really good workout this morning :exclamation:

Okay, it's confession time; I have been seriously slacking on my gym time this week. When I'm home working, every day is Saturday! :frown: I went this morning, though, dragging DS with me. We had a great time and it wasn't busy.
Since I've had more "rest" days than exercise days, I did upper and lower with ten minutes on the bike to start and ten minutes on the dreadmill to cool down.
I've proven my theory that my diligence has been purely because the gym is on my route home from work.
got in ONE exercise this week.
Went on a 2mile hike today around town.

Dare I hope next week will be better...You can count on it! Today is already day two for me this week. I'm back in my routine. You can't imagine how out-of-the-box it was for me to go on a Saturday. I just knew I had to or you'd be knocking on my door! :paranoid:

Okay, my friend, you can relax in your chair. I put in ten minutes on the bike and then 20 minutes on the treadmill (talking). I also did the adductor/abductor. Kinda lopsided, but I did a lot of ab work yesterday and wanted to give those a rest.
