Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years; people grow old only by deserting their ideals.
Samuel Ullman
I'm clear on this one! I started this program so I wouldn't be a sedentary, disease-ridden, overweight old woman when I was sixty like so many of my relatives. I saw where my lifestyle was taking me and changed my path. :)
Breakfast will be a mocha protein shake. I froze some coffee in an ice cube tray and I'm going to make the shake with coffee, cocoa, cream and vanilla daVinci for a change. Lunch will be a mushroom swiss burger. Dinner will be steak on the grill if the wind dies down.
What is your ideal? Has this way of eating helped?
Have a great day y'all!

That's definitely something to think about, Carol. This way of eating has definitely helped my health, and my weight, but my ideal also includes lots of stuff from the "other 20%" - and the internet hasn't helped with my book reading .
(This is just a brief visit - I've plugged the internet router into the electricians' extension socket, but I'll have to disconnect before they get here and start work again. They're expecting to finish today though, so I should be back later :). )

Janet, you're right about the book-reading! When the Geezer and I sit and read in the evening, he's in the recliner chair reading history and I'm perched in front of the glowing screen reading current health blogs instead of murder mysteries.
Glad you could pop in, and I hope they live up to their predictions. ;)
My shake was good, but next time I'll freeze the cream in cubes and use the leftover coffee for the liquid. I also added saigon cinnamon. The flavor was great.

Amy, you're not your resilient self these days! Am I going to have to resurrect Wacky Wednesday? Don't go all crumbly on me. :suspicious:
I'm re-organizing cupboards this morning. I just washed all the vases and stowed them behind the new under-sink bins that now contain all the cleaning supplies. Next, I'm moving to the computer supplies that were dislocated when we remodeled last summer.
I am feeling very down....
GF is still unemployed, otherwise I'd be looking for a new job. I hate that the economy is such right now that I feel trapped in this job.
My boss puts me in a position where I am the go between for him/employees. He pushes power on me, then when I'm working with employees he pulls my feet out from under me.
I'm feeling very deflated.
So when I'm at work, which is where I log in here most often, I am busy getting my work done so that I can leave after working 7hrs 59min and 59sec.
Meanwhile, I pray that GF gets a job and that I then can start my search.

Hi, y'all,
Carol, great quote and so true. This way of eating is helping me be able to "run around the hospital" untill I can retire. Bet your cupboards will shine today.
Ammy, hang in there girl, GF will soon get a job, I bet.
Janet, glad the guys are gone.
Leaving the hospial for the airport to head to Boston. All is packed, few LC snacks in my carry on. Behave yourselves while I'm gone, (I am talking to myself especially).
"See " ya late Thursday night.
Hugs,
Claudette

Safe trip, Claudette!
No, he wouldn't find out...I'm just not sure changing jobs now, while GF is unemployed, is my best option.
Plus, because of what I do, I may get hired by an accounting office, then in June, after tax season, get laid off...
So timing is important, BUT that doesn't mean I couldn't be updating my resume.
yes, that would make me feel better!!
Thanks Carol.

There you go! :D I'm sure you have an awesome resume, especially after the merger. And the lawyers were happy with your work. Planning and, yes, dreaming, is uplifting. Plus you'll be ready when it's time to jump.

I'm a little discouraged today--I think this woe is the best for my health, but I'm not losing any weight. I guess I'll have to try to cut portions and stay busy enough to not notice. I might try to use atkins shakes as meal replacements?
So about my ideals, I guess the way I feel is more important than how I look. My ideal self would not mind the extra 10 pounds as much. So I guess I should just be happy that I feel a lot better.I would beat my husband if he complained about the extra weight, so I guess I shouldn't dwell on it either.
Here's what I ate today:
piece of bacon and 1 ounce mozzarella
coffee with no sugar
BLT with 1 oz cheddar (on revoloopsie roll)
a few spoonfuls sf jello (my son hogged the rest, lol)
turkey lunchmeat
black coffee
4 oz. pork chop
sauerkraut
diet coke
small handful pecans
herbal tea
and I'm so hungry I know I won't sleep, so I guess I'll have some cottage cheese before bed.
I didn't exercise, and I think I need at least another glass of water.

I'm hungry too and have some sf jello. Good idea to have that as I know I won't sleep either.
All my stuff got done again.

Don't just assume you have to cut, you might have to switch some things around! :)
All my stuff got done again.Good girl, Karole. You rock!
