Hi All!!!
Just wanted to let you know that I am still alive and hoping to get my head in the right place soon and make it back here permanently!!!:o It's a matter of getting to that place where I focus on myself instead of everyone and everything else. Until that happens - I haven't been very faithful to pp or exercising.:( I am hoping to find that place soon and get my butt back here. I just need to find my focus!!!
Until then, I just wanted to say "Hi" and hope everyone is fine!!!

Sharon - Thanks for starting the thread :). As for getting into the right place, keep in mind that if you let YOU come first, YOU will be much better able to take care of all those other people ;). And if YOU don't realize YOU need to come first, THEY will certainly never think you should either ;).

Okay gang, here we are at a brand new week so let's get to moving it! This is my rest week between cycles - the last 4 weeks just flew by. So for this week it's going to be walking, PT, PT exercises and that's about it so I can hit the weights heavy and hard next week :D. So far today I started out with a 90 minute walk.
What does YOUR week look like :)?

My week will be busy as we're having company this week end and going trail riding with them. I need to get my house ready for that as I have let it slide a bit lately. Oh well , they call it Spring Cleaning and it needs to be done.
Today I did something useful for my exercise-- I got out in the flower bed and hoed and carried debis off for about 25 min. That was all I wanted as I didn't want to hurt my back or anything. It was like high intensity really as I was huffing and puffing while hoeing and then while I was getting rid of the stuff I was just walking so I got to catch my breath.

Hello all,
so hard to believe there is no major festival this week, does it mean I have to M&S all six days?!;)
Shadow, I'm sure you're going to be happy with me today: I did my exercise twice! One swallow doesn't make a summer but I liked it quite a lot. And I'd like to increase my workout time a bit. We'll see...
Sunday - morning:10 Minute Solution Thighs + 5 min abs; evening: stationary bike (HIIT) 17 minutes;
@Sharon: so nice to see you! Come back here, to PP & M&S, you know it makes so good! :)

I went to the gym tonight and did upper body and some cardio. I was lifting comfortably. I'd like to try the arc trainer again, because my back has no discomfort at all. Maybe tomorrow. I'm also avoiding the leg press because it seems like I must be doing something wrong and I get a low-back ache. I've had lots of advice, too. Right now, I'm more interested in the arc trainer.

Lower body done today. I was so tired I considered not going, but my routine is to change into my gym clothes before leaving my office, so I let my routine take over. That's when it's nice to have a plan. Then I came home and put my feet up without feeling guilty! :D

Well, I did it again--procrastinated with my exercises and just now finished up. I did do a bunch of housework today so that was one reason I was so late.
20 elliptical and 10 min. Pt exercises. See you earlier tomorrow I hope !!
Had non-stop meetings after work, so during my schedule phone meeting, I got permission to walk. I walked (and talked) for 30 minutes.
Felt good.

Thanks!
I also worked out with GF that we would workout together 4times a week. Two of the times she would get to choose what we did, and 2 of the times I get to choose.
We set a minimum time of 20minutes.
We start tomorrow. The dates are set for Tu, Th, Sat, Sun.
We'll see how long this lasts!

Thank you! I'm really glad to be with you again on everyday basis (well, more or less;)). And as far as time is concerned, I think there is 7-hour difference between us. Not sure, though.
Yesterday afternoon we went to cinema so there was no time for afternoon exercise. This morning I decided to return to Walk Away the Pounds 2 Mile dvd (+/- 29 minutes). I was attracted by the title, I guess (but it made me sweat). After holidays there is some work to be done. Strangely, even with everyday exercise & supervised calories & carbs intakes there is no progress at all (on the contrary!). Maybe too much exercise...?? JK.

We saw 'Letter from an Unknown Woman' with Joan Fontaine, the film from 1948. If you haven't seen it yet, do it on the first possible occasion. It's based on Stefan Zweig's story, one of my favourites ones.

Hi all, taking a break and I did manage to get in 10 min. upper body workout with my 5# weights plus 5 min. lower body--did some planks and leg lifts.
Plus in my housework extravaganza I ran...er ...make that "walked" up and down my basement stairs 6 times.:nod:
There may be other unplanned trips down there later--who knows--not even the Shadow.
Tonight is line dancing night but our friend said he wants to take us out to dinner and I don't know if I can turn that one down !!:rolleyes:
Nothing yesterday. Didn't feel well, so I sat and watched the movie Doubt...
Have you seen it?? It's HARD to watch...........:frown:
Anyway...30min walk already today...and in LOW heels.

Well, here it is Thursday (actually very early Friday) and this is my first post of the week. I completed the gazelle and a Tai chi session on Monday, and then Tuesday stupidly tried to move something too heavy for me and strained my shoulder again (actually bicepts tendon), so haven't done any more gazelle, Tai Chi or exercise bands. But I am walking 2-3 miles most days.
My life has gotten a bit complicated right now (in a good way) so I am not going to be around here very much. I am buying land in town, selling this one, and building a small house. All exciting, but time consuming. I'll check here when possible, but won't be posting regularly.

BC, I hope it heals up quickly.
I finally got a night of uninterrupted sleep, and I'm so happy. My lower back is tender, but that's likely to be from having it out all week. I'm going to back off on the weights today and concentrate on the movements.

Keep us abreast of all that buying and building BC. You will be busy I'm sure.
I will have trailriding as my exercise of the day. I know most folks think the horse is doing the work (and he is) but believe me, after you catch them, curry them , saddle them and then ride for a few hours you can tell you have done something more that simply sit in a chair. It takes the core muscles and leg muscles to stay on and going.
(That's my story and I'm stickin to it !!)

Hello everybody,
I'm in a hurry (it's Friday after all:)) so I'll just report on my morning exercise:
Firday - cardio (20 mins) + 10 mins Pilates for Abs (that was tough!)
Tomorrow is my day off and I see you all on Sunday.
Brigit-Carol, hope you'll feel better soon.
Amy, I really like Meryl Streep but I still haven't seen Doubt. Is it worth seeing?
Have to run.
Have a great weekend, all of you
It was a very "heady" movie...gets you thinking!
So if you like thinking...yes!

Thinking is very good for you (sometimes, anyway  ). However, it does not qualify as exercise, even if it can be tiring to think too much :p  ;).
But if steam comes out of my ears cause my brain is on overdrive, it SHOULD be counted as exercise!!!

Exercise for this week:
Sunday, played around with my new resistance bands a bit, not really a complete workout.
Monday, Tuesday: Hubby was home sick. Now I can't really claim that his being home prevents me from exercising, but it does break my routine, and . . .
Wednesday: Tae Bo, worked on some leg exercises w/resistance bands
Thurs: Good upper body (biceps, triceps, abs, etc) with bands
Today: Tae Bo, legs w/bands

I think I'm really going to like them, especially once I get used to the feel, and get a good routine going.
The upper body won't be a problem; there are a lot of exercises for most of the muscle groups that can be done from my chair with little or no modification.
The legs will be a bit more of a challenge - I just need to think creatively.
They can be a bit deceiving - I did an exercise the other day to work my side muscles, and didn't think I had gotten them very well. Then about an hour later when I moved just the right way - Oh, ho. I guess I did get those muscles after all!
Saturday...walked to, then around, then from the zoo. It was gorilla day!
Maybe a 2 mile walk.
