Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to all of you (even if it's the 4-legged kind of children) :D!

Got my chest/back workout in plus an hour of walking.

How are you all getting the week started :p?

Or not....heh, heh,heh.:lol: Sorry I just couldn't resist when I saw there were no other posts yesterday.

I will do something serious today though, Shadow. Something "resistive" and hard:eek::eek:, okay? I've been gone tooo long and now it's time to get my groove back.

got in the dog walk yesterday.
I wasn't getting out the door fast enough for the springer spaniel so he BIT me in the BUTT!!
He has a habit (BAD habit) of using his mouth to grab you lightly and take you where he wants you to go. My hand wasn't available so he grabbed my butt!! OUCH!!!

Anyway, another 2.5mile walk done, and I have another scheduled tonight.

Bad dog !! Grrrr.

I did 10 min. upper body with 5# weights and 15 min. lower body then finished off with 5 min. of my pt stretches .

I'm thinking I may need to get a weight that is a little heavier than 5# as I am able to do over 14 reps with them. May look into them soon.

Believe me, Amy, if you guys were within "biting" distance, I just might try that myself ! Although I don't think it would be butts I'd be chewing ;). But I'm really surprised - I know springers can be headstrong, but they're normally so loving!

Upper body tonight, plus bike and arc trainer. My chatty girlfriend has had her job cut so she's not there to laugh me out of a bad mood. I was in one today, but the music helped somewhat.

Hey, I was here yesterday so I get to be a pet toooo.:nod: Plus I did my exercise for today already-- it was 20 min. on the elliptical and I used intervals to get my breathing going pretty good. Hopefully there will be more later.

hi Shadow!

I've actually been doing really well the last 2 days - just haven't been visiting here

I bought some exercise dvd and have been tivoing Gilad.
Yesterday did stairs and one of the Gilad work-outs.
Today, I did 2 of the work-outs - one in the morning and one in the afternoon - about 20 minutes each, mixed aerobics and - can't think what the other exercises are called

AND, did the stairs 2x and walked 2x around the park :D:D
I am definitely feeling it, everywhere from my feet to my shoulders

Since it IS wacky Wednesday, here's a little moderate exercise that I'm pretty sure you ALL can do - and it's fun, too :slywink::
HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT?

You have to try this please it takes 2 seconds. I could not believe this!!! It is from an orthopedic surgeon............. This will boggle your mind and you will keep you trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but you can't. It's pre-programmed in your brain!

1. Without anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY!!) and while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles with it.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction. I told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

Ammy

ARGH!!! YOu're making me CRAZY!!!!

I can do it if I go REALLY REALLY REALLY slowly...but otherwise I can't!
I won't stop trying though! I am the MASTER of my right foot! The MASTER I tell you!!!!

For today: dh wanted a walk this evening so it was 30 min. of that and then I did my pt stretches while I was all warmed up, then into lower body and the last ten min. was upper body with weights. Total time including the walk was 1 hour 4 min.

I only managed stairs and a little walking yesterday, but,
since I know I'm going to be super busy today,

I set my alarm early and already got in my Gilad :D

tomorrow we have a big dinner dance and one of the other wives loves to dance as much as I do - we're usually on the dance floor with each other except the slow dances when we can usually convince a dh to get up - so, that'll be my only m & s Friday.

Thanks for letting me know you didn't fall off the planet :)! Take care of yourself and get well - that's the most important part. But even if you're not able to M&S, you can still check in with us now and again, you know ;)!

Mon - Cardio, core
Tues - Legs and short walk (about 30 min)
Weds - Cardio, core

THANKS you are the best. I'm busy looking at the internet for ideas about exercise, how soon, how much. I'm not as sophisticated as you guys but using the search function, I was unable to see the forest for the trees.
Anyone have any specific key words, for this forum?

Mmmm - Carol is the best at this but let me go see if I can find something for you :). I'll be back!

Edited to add: I couldn't really find a good link but the upshot is that you can exercise within your comfort level. But just remember your body needs resources to heal so don't push it :). Find something you can do without a lot of pain and just do that for now. You can always increase/expand your exercise once you are well again ;).

Shadow, I didn't get in any formal exercise yesterday, just heavy housework , then company, then bd party, then out to dinner with friends, played aggravation til 11:30, then bed. The day just got by me--wonder how that happened.
