Hi all! I am looking for some help in regards to trying to figure out the carb count in the fruit/vegetable juice that I make. I do not add anything to the juice, it is just pure fruits and veggies. All the sites and books I check only talk about whole fruit/veggies or commercially bought juice. The juice I make does not include the pulp/skin of the fruits/veggies I use. Can anyone help me with trying to figure this out? Pretty please? Thanks! :)

I had the same problem a few years ago and was advised to use the commercial no-sugar-added juice counts. I ended up making a custom entry in Diet Power that included V-8 and a selection of the fruit juices I added. Probably wasn't completely accurate, but close.

And as an aside, I would recommend adding back in the pulp to get more nutrients -- if you are straining the juice, you are losing a lot.

Interesting problem. I looked at the USDA database for carrots and sure enough, it doesn't tell about "carrot juice, pulp not included."

What I would do is use Fitday for the vegetable. And then, look at the individual vegetable's carb and fiber counts. And then not use the fiber.

Example with carrots:
carrots, raw, large
carb 7 g
fiber 2 g

so I would count 5 grams for that large carrot. And save it as a custom food.

I wonder if you looked through a "cookbook for juicing" that contained nutrition counts.
I wonder if you could do some figuring from that?
Or maybe they have listed the counts from each fruit/veggie in the book??
