Does anyone have info about keeping their fasting glucose levels low and seeing greater weight loss?

I'm back on LC WOE, and my nondiabetic monitoring of my fasting glucose is showing lower numbers -- 60s and 70s generally -- than the usual 80s to 100s -- and wondered if it is signaling, say, my body ready to give up the fat stores.

Because I am not seeing any weight loss yet, but really good fasting glucose numbers, does it mean my body is probably preparing for some drop in the scale?

Karen, I would assume your lower fbs numbers indicate greater insulin sensitivity. That would contribute to better fat burning as far as I know, but there are other factors involved.

I'm not in the medical profession, but I'm diabetic and always on the quest for insulin sensitivity. I have been building muscle and losing fat with resistance exercise and my weight hasn't moved in several months. My doctor says it's because the muscle has more density than the fat. I hope he's right! ;)

Some foods work better for us than others. There are people who don't do well with sugar alcohols and others who had to decrease dairy or wheat or preservatives to break a weight loss stall.

How long have you been back on the low carb plan?

Been on PP for a week. Lots of eggs. LOTS of deviled eggs. But ...
Today I blew it. I could not control myself when I saw some ice cream.

Okay. I'll pick myself up. Tomorrow's another day. If fasting glucose is down, I would guess that I'm becoming more insulin sensitive, as you said.

Carol, do you ever fall off the wagon and cannot control the cravings?

I don't eat packaged foods (except the IC) and rarely eat sugar alcohols.
