Since I just know everyone is going to be up early Sunday morning and raring to go ;), I'm going to get the thread started a bit early.

I'm going to try to ease into some lower body work (other than my PT exercises) this week. If things flare up, I'll go back to the PT exercises. But either way, something WILL get done ;).

My line up for the week:
Sunday - total body; walk/bike
Monday - walk/bike
Tues - total body
Weds - walk/bike
Thurs - total body

What are YOUR plans for the week? Come one, come all - you don't want me to have to hunt you down :slywink: !

Well, my plans are pretty much the same as last week: yoga on five days (M-F), with the content adjusted depending how I'm feeling each day (that is depending on how much energy I have available, not whether I feel like bothering or not ;)).

One more time, I'm going to try to get to the gym for a trial program for swimming and Zumba. However, I've decided if it doesn't fly, I'm perfectly ok continuing the walk til you drop plan;) Now that I have that virtual partner that's willing to sweat with me.

Looks like a good plan - but I'm not sure about the "bothering or not" part   ;)!

I think the "walk til you drop plan" is perfectly wonderful, Martha :D! Especially since that's about where I am too . Well, at least *I* am getting some good resistance in :p.... (hint)....

So here I am in Deauville, Normandy for a month or so! Hopefully, I'm going to resume my brisk walks along the beach in the company of my DH as my cardio.

Today I did 15 min of PN Tae Bo (Get Moving) & Pilates Sculpting (upper body 10 min).
This week, apart from brisk walking, I'm planning to concentrate on my upper body, (I'm going to go swimming in the English Channel tomorrow and my arms are not very strong ). Plus stretching and abs. We'll see ;).

I know, I know that's loud and clear, so to keep up with you, walk til you drop AND find resistance Mon, Wed, Fri....
Man, can she crack a whip or what:p Take care of yourself, just because there isn't someone there to say, "you're done" please, please pay attention to your body:cool:

Practice makes the arms grow stronger :p.... And strong abs help carry the load, too ;).

I've done today's yoga - did most of it, but cut down a little bit on the tougher parts, because my asthma has been bothering me the last couple of days (it's weird, because my PEF today was 540 L/min, which is my highest yet, and the "normal" value for my age and height is 410, normal for women age 30 and 6' is 460, but it just feels wrong - cold, tight chest, mucus, coughing...). We're planning a walk at lunch time, but it won't be very long, because we don't want to overdo it with my husband's ankle (yes, we're a pair of wrecks ). Anyway, it's important not to overdo things with injured joints, isn't it, Shadow ;)?

Well, since I am told I tend to over-do, the reminder is greatly appreciated . And if the way I feel today is any indication, it's also much needed .

Wise decision, Mitra ! I will never be able to figure out why/when it gets harder than others to do our workouts. One of life's sweet mysteries!

We're planning a walk at lunch time, but it won't be very long, because we don't want to overdo it with my husband's ankle (yes, we're a pair of wrecks ).
Absolutely! I am thrilled DH is going with and yes, that ankle still needs to be treated with respect . It was probably an ankle sprain that was behind the adage of "time heals all wounds" because it certainly takes an inordinate amount of it to get an ankle back to normal !
Anyway, it's important not to overdo things with injured joints, isn't it, Shadow ;)?
Oh my yes - and it takes a really long time for some of us to grasp the concept :o....

Well, Shadow, I didn't get any exercise in over the weekend, but I think you'll forgive me when you know the reason.

A couple of weeks ago, our son - who lives about 60 miles from us - called and suggested they come up on the Saturday after the 4th and we could have a picnic in the park. We thought that sounded like a good idea and planned to meet them there.

Well, when we arrived, there with our son and his wife were:
My mother and her husband (from Missouri)
Younger brother #1 (from Littleton, CO)
Younger brother #2 (from Seattle)
and our Daughter (from Fort Worth)

TOTAL SURPRISE - NOT A CLUE OR AN INKLING!

My mom's family (siblings) had a reunion in June with siblings, spouses, children, grandchildren, etc. When I said I couldn't come (primarily for health reasons), my brothers said that if I wouldn't be there they weren't going to go. So I guess Mom said, Fine, let's take the reunion to her . . . and that's what they did. I guess they've been planning and conspiring for weeks. We were completely blown away. Mom and my brothers all had to leave late Sunday morning, but our daughter just drove away. It was a joyful and tearful weekend (does crying get any exercise credit?)

Anyway, I'll get back on track today.

I've done a little yoga and a walk, but it's mid-afternoon here, so I've had more time than most :).

Geez, Lita...alright already...I'm checking in.

Of course, I haven't done any exercise to speak of, but I'm checking in.

I've spent about 10 hours over the past 3 days trying to clean out my 13 yo twin boys' room while they are at camp (see my post in the OD@AT thread).

I did find the Regis videotape in their room...may have to use that til I find the DVD I made of it.

Anyhoo, better get back to the pig sty...er, bedroom.

Hi all, just checking in--still not able to exercise but now at least I can stand to sit at the puter long enough to post a bit.

My regular chiro is on vacation this week so I got an appointment yesterday for a massage but that really didn't help so I broke down and went to a new chiro and I'm glad I did. I am much better today and have another session scheduled for tomorrow.

So, Ms. Martha hold me up just a few more days and I'll be back with you !!

Hawk :D How nice to see you popping up here!

How about nipping over to ODAAT to fill us in on your news?

I'm running late on exercise today because I keep having to go out for trivial errands . Oh well, it keeps me on my feet and moving around. If I don't get chance earlier, I'll fit the yoga in this evening. One advantage of the lighter practice is that I can do it at any time of day.

I have to go down to the post office now to pick up a parcel that they tried to deliver while I was out doing something else this morning.

Sorry Shadow for this late check in but it's quite busy over here. I did Monday-Friday workouts, though:D! I do my workouts in the morning and swimming in the afternoon (it will change when the tide turns in the morning).
Mon - lower body (20 min.) + swimming
Tue - upper body (15 min.) + Power Stretch (10 min.) + swimming
Wed - cardio (brisk walk, 45 min.) + swimming (much shorter: big waves!)
Thu - abs (15 min.) + Power Stretch (10 min.) + swimming
Fri - buns (10 min) + Tae Bo Upper Body (10 min.) + Stretch (5 min.)

Not sure about swimming this afternoon as after yesterday's storm the weather is not that great. Saturday is my day off and I'll be back on Sunday.
Have a great weekend

I've just finished my five days for this week, with a lunchtime work, then yoga this afternoon. Unfortunately I made the mistake of deciding I didn't need to bother getting my yoga mat out, and lying face down on a woollen carpet doesn't help asthma :o. Coughing doesn't help the yoga, either.

I'd like to think of a small way to start doing some work with weights reasonably regularly - but not starting out with something that will either wear me out or be so daunting I won't bother to do it.

Silly Mitra ! Hopefully the asthma has calmed down a bit :). But way to go getting it done for the week :D! I do suppose coughing adds just a touch of cardio to your day :p.

How about just one exercise per muscle group with only one set per group? That should only take a couple minutes. Or I suppose if you want to start out really small, you could just do some push ups and then add on another exercise as soon as you're used to fitting them in ;).

sorry, yeah pretty sure I missed the invite too...Just home from work. Now I'm guessing Mitra will pull the old hey" it's after midnight," when I try to share those vibes with her, just when I'm working up to using them, myself. Maybe it's a big work out party, with weights and everything. That would explain why Mitra and I weren't invited since we just came clean about our limitations, but I can't explain how yours was lost.
