Okay, gang - let's get to seeing some more action this week!!! I thought maybe if I used the exclamation sign, more would see the thread and join in :p.

There have been several MIAs among us - and you know who you are! Do you want me to name you so everyone else knows  :suspicious: ??????

Come on everyone - even if you're not moving, come and tell us why and when you ARE going to start moving! Sometimes half the battle is facing it so let's look in the mirror and get ready to face ourselves and our performance (or lack thereof)!

This week is pretty similar to last week. I did end up with 6 days of walking last week but don't know if that will happen this week or not. Will take it as it comes, getting in the scheduled walks, and hoping for some "bonus" ones ;).

This week's lineup:
Sunday - total body, bike/walk
Monday - bike/walk, PT exercises
Tues - total body, walk
Weds - bike/walk, PT exercises
Thurs - total body

I'll be doing the same as last week: five days of yoga, and some walks as well. I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday to review the asthma treatment, so I hope that we'll be able to improve things a bit on that front.

Hi, Shadow. Still on the heating pad and will have a third chiro session tomorrow. I have been able to walk straighter but still in pain in the lower back . I am sooooo tired of this.

Ok, I'm gonna cover Karole's and mine. I leave early and get home 7ish so I'm not sure how much more I'll add this week. If Karole takes this week she'll be able to come back stronger than if she pushes too soon. This week I'll do some beach walking. The sand always makes me feel like I'm doing a tough(er) work out.

I've been upping my walking a bit more daily and I can actually do a little on my old stair stepper without too much pain now :D (but building up slowly and wisely I hope).

so here is my line up

Sunday (today) 30 minute walk/10 minutes stair stepper
Monday 45 minute walk
Tuesday 30 minute walk/10 minutes stair stepper
Wednesday 45 minute walk
Thursday 30 minute walk/10 minutes stair stepper

and so on......

Thanks for picking up my slack this past week Martha !! It'll keep that whip from swishing around my head thus saving Shadows arm and making her very happy. I did'nt know vitual exercise partners could work out so well !! I go back today and actually my back is doing pretty good today. Maybe my griping yesterday did some good.

We have a 10 day trailride in under two weeks time so I have to be ready to ride. If this had to happen I'm glad it was this past week not in two weeks time . That would really have been a bummer.

The sand definitely makes it harder, Martha ! Awesome goal for your walks! And how very sweet of you to carry Karole's load, too :D! You're right, we don't want her pushing back into it too soon!

However, I also do not want you to think that when she does come back that you can take a break ! You and Buddy still need to get out there and move it ;). Although you can slack some on the walks if you add some resistance !

Monday 45 minute walk
Tuesday 30 minute walk/10 minutes stair stepper
Wednesday 45 minute walk

I've done today's stuff. I increased the yoga a little bit from last week, and we walked a bit further (the extra walking wasn't really significant for me, because it's less than I get separately just doing normal errands, but my husband's ankle seems to be bearing up, so the increase was for his benefit).

I'm trying to think of all the questions I need to cover when I see the doctor on Wednesday so that I don't need to go back again.

I'm ba-ack! :)

I'm happy to report that I walked my legs off for the past nine days. The knees didn't complain nearly as much as I anticipated, which was great! I used my arm muscles (and all the associated areas) by carrying heavy guitar cases, so I got some upper body stuff in as well.

Do you think the complete change of routine was enough to shed some weight? I lost six pounds. I probably ate less, too.

Mitra

I switched my weights over from two x 1.25 Kg on each to two x 2.5 Kg on each. Does that count?

Wahoo, my friend!!!!! I am sooo happy for you! And yes, a complete change of routine can do that. That's part of why I encourage totally shaking things up from time to time ;). The hard part is the "total" of the change since we all tend to be creatures of habit.

Dumbells? The little sticks that take a weight on each end - the short ones that you have two of, one for each hand, not the big long ones. They came with four 2.5 Kg weights (which are on them now) and eight 1.25 Kg that are just ready for when I need to go higher . I had to make two trips to carry them home from the shop . I bought them a couple of years ago when I was doing Slow Burn - before I did Crash and Burn :o.

Martha , she said it was much better but I need to go back one more time. I took a really short walk today and it did hurt a bit but a different kind of hurt so maybe it is about to do better.

I told her I only have 10 days til we ride and she didn't seem to think I wouldn't be up for it.

I'm wondering if a chiro would give me any exercises to do to strengthen my back (or .... :suspicious::paranoid::paranoid::paranoid: ...do they want to keep a person coming back for them to straighten out all the time---my that sounds suspicious or paranoid doesn't it?

I think, in all professions there are individuals with secondary gain issues, but not most by any stretch. If you're comfortable that progress is occurring, I think your gut will guide you.

I think they would have copies or recommendations, I would ask, (but I'm like that.) If she doesn't have copies I would ask her for direction or at least something like, are there postures, positions or exercises I should avoid? Sorry this got wordy and probably belongs OT.

Not even though I've changed to not using the heavier weights?

I've done the yoga and walking, though. We just managed to fit in a walk between rain showers, which is just as well, because we may not get any more this week - my husband has meetings etc. He'll be here on Friday, but we'll need to see how the ankle held up with the travel on Thursday.

Wow - that's an awesome lineup! Now we just need to get you doing some resistance too .

Believe me I want to, but with my fibromyalgia I have to work to get there. It is less bothersome now with diet and I am having a lot more better days and nights, but I still don't want to come this far and then injure myself and have a longer set back. I'm thinking when I am pain free for several weeks that will be a good time to add light weights and then slowly work from there. Rather than try it now, injure myself and have to wait many months. Make sense, or is my thinking flawed?

That's awesome!!!!!!!:thumbsup: The change of routine could definitely play a big part, no matter how good an exercise sometimes our bodies just plain get used to it and so it kind of becomes less of a workout (IMHO), also different things work different muscles and so that is good to shake it up a bit.

Is it really Wednesday? I've been thinking about checking in since Sunday, I swear!
Anyway, it's everything all right side workout (I even have an 'upper body blast' plan for a week, how is that, Shadow?;)), even if I am not happy at all with those Jerusalem gained pounds which stay on despite my very wise PP menu. I want them off!
Sun - cardio (brisk walk 40 min.)
Mon - cardio 10 min + upper body 10 min + pilates essentials 8 min
Tue - buns 20 min + (later) cardio 15 min
Wed - upper body 15 min + abs 10 min

Tomorrow is cardio (brisk walk) + swimming before lunch, Fri cardio, upper body & pilates. Saturday evening I hope to do 10 Min Power Stretch but it's not sure.

Karole - I hope you'll get well really soon!

Hi, I made my last trip to the chiro as my back feels great today . She wanted me to come back but it is 85 miles round trip every other day so I told her I would see how it goes and get right back in to see her at the first sign of problems.

Then this afternoon my dd and 2 dgd's and assorted great grand blessings called and asked it I felt like walking with them. So I walked a good 30 min. but not fast or any thing. I will get back into the brisk stuff when I know for sure that I can. It surely felt good to get moving again !!
