Anyone else catch the premier of More to Love last night.

I suspect we might see a Dr. Mike blog on this, as it's the Bachelor, only with the people he complained about at Disneyland the other day. And none of them are trying to lose weight. Good for them, I suppose.

I'm distressed to see a couple of these shows. There's a cable dancing show that is named something like "Dance your butt off" ... I suppose its an exercise, lose weight kind of thing. But the last thing I want to see is a bunch of fat people dancing. All I need to do for that is look in the mirror.

But I'm also a critic of the overly skinny body image we expect of stars. My wife watches a reality show with Tori Spelling, and she is scary-skinny. I watch a show called "Burn Notice" on USA, and there's a female character who is supposed to be "buff", but I find her distressingly thin. Bones are supposed to be on the inside. And really, the stomach isn't supposed to be flat, there should be a little bulge there.

But with that said, I hate to see us go too far toward "fat acceptance" like its a minority status or a disability. It lets the purveyors of the low-fat, high carb diet craze off too easy.
