Let's go, let's go, let's go!!!!! The week is started - and YOU should be started too ;)!

My line up:
Sunday - Circuits (done); snow shoveling (round 1 done - more to come)
Monday - Cardio
Tuesday - Total body
Thursday - Cardio
Friday - Total body

Now, I want to hear from all of YOU and find out what YOU plan on doing :slywink:. I know *I* will get mine done - what about YOU ????

I suppose I'd better not make you come looking for me again. I'll be doing my new yoga practice.

I'm going to build on my epic walk, and get back in the habit of walking for 30 mins or so first thing in the morning, and generally try to get the house straight again, now that I have the energy. Lots of catching up to do :o, which involves bending and stretching, just moving more than I have been in the habit of doing the last few months.

I've decided to go back to more cardio-oriented programme for a couple of weeks. This morning I did 30 minutes of Cardio Flex Band Workout. During the week I'll have to do some 10 or 15 minutes sessions in the morning and in the afternoon to get a mix of some cardio, resistance and stretch. Hopefully, I won't catch any cold/bug/headache again;)!

I've noticed only now, that Shadow gave me 'sick pass'! I could've stayed happy without the morning cardio! What have I done:eek:?!
Well, I guess I just need some M&S after all (even cardio), and having no ugly symptoms of any kind I felt urged to start moving again. I was breathless and quite tired but I had to admit that I was rather kind to myslef.
By the way, thank you for your nice "get well" wishes:).

Went for a little bike ride this afternoon, about 17-18 miles. I did some sprints in the middle and ate a few hills. I think the temp. dropped about 10 degrees in the time I was out. Got home with frozen fingers and toes.

I'm having some tea to warm up and then I'll do some isometric and proprioception work for my legs and have a good stretch. I'm being very carefull of my knee, don't want to end up like two weeks ago.

Morning!

Job done. I didn't go the whole way around my 'circuit', did about two thirds because I still have plasters on the blister, and didn't want to exacerbate that as I need to be able to do more than hobble around if I am going to achieve anything else today. Still, it is a start and a definite improvement on doing nothing. I also feel ready for breakfast, which is a meal that I have been struggling with, so walking will help there too.

I hesitate to say it when Shadow has been shovelling the white stuff for days, but there is a distinct nip in the air, and the trees are beginning to turn colour, here in London.

Checking in, without any report, (except new bike pieces,) I caught a cold last Friday. I was good to myself and didn't ride or walk long distances. So, my new bike pieces, lights new bar ends, to change position of wrists for braking and shifting are sitting lonely in the garage. Jilly, I'm jealous the ride sounds wonderful, even the frozen fingers, since it's still in the 90s here, may be time to get out full finger gloves ;).

No color here - we jumped so quickly into winter that the leaves fell off while still green..... 'Course, we don't get much color here anyway, compared to the northeast where I grew up .

Best to get healthy Martha, you'll have plenty of time to play with the new bike pieces and ride.

I'm going to be buying full fingered gloves very soon. :) I have found my touque, I wore it under my helmet on the early ride to work last week.

Today I'm going to ride over to my sisters place and help her with Thanksgiving dinner prep. Other than that just some more stretching. I'm trying to get in the habit of stretching every day.

I am not going walking this morning as I have to go out with DS2 this afternoon, and that will involve as much walking, if not more, plus a skirmish with the dreaded London omnibuses :paranoid:

The good news is that I did not suffer any problems from the blister after yesterday's effort, but my legs are as stiff as they were after the epic walk. Why does exercise have to be so darned uncomfortable? It is almost as if the power behind the universe wants to discourage us from doing any :D:D (Waddles off for cover before Shadow arrives. Sometimes this time difference can be a blessing :))

I find it a very relevant remark indeed:p - the universe quite often interferes with my good intentions. Sometimes I put a disc to my player and I can see how uncomfortable it is and have to change my mind and take a day off or two;)!

No gym this morning as I had to wake up quite early and my DH was up early too. Not the best moment to do my 10 minutes of something. However, once again I was a good girl and did my planned biking: 25 minutes HIIT.

Worked a short day and stopped at the gym on the way home. Did a leg workout and some stretching. I did a little bit of ab work but only planks as too much twisting in the middle really doesn't agree the new tattoo.:lol:

Looks like we'll have rain all week, so may not do much biking. I'll figure out some other way to move fast.

Didn't get out and about yesterday as I had to wait in for a courier delivery, and once that came I couldn't be bothered. I know that, unless I have a specific reason to be going out for something, if I don't just get up and go out, it doesn't happen. Today I have walked to the library and back.

Yes, walking is better than nothing . Besides, you might as well enjoy the weather while you can, huh ;)?

However, I'm just sure you're yearning to do some yoga or Slow Burn or something else, right ???

Mitra
10-15-2009, 05:12 PM
I think I'm more likely to yearn for yoga than for Slow Burn! And I have done some this week, just not every day. If I just do walking for a few days, I start to feel a bit stiff, and want something that involves a bigger range of movement.

Last week I had the odd experience of having masses of energy. I found myself running up four flights of stairs just because I had too much energy to sit in my chair. It was very strange. This week, however, is back to what I'm used to - it requires a certain amount of mental effort to get any physical effort started.

I'm enjoying a lazy day of reading and researching. Exercising my brain for a bit. I am pleasantly sore from yesterdays upper body workout, a sure sign I went heavy and hard enough. :D I will do some stretching later, that will probably be it for today. Tomorrow will be some sort of leg workout and Sunday I have to work. Very rare for me but the weather isn't improving till then and this project as to be done as soon as the weather permits.

I'm going to order either "Slow Burn" or something similar from Amazon today, I'm looking forward to changing things up a bit. Any suggestions or thoughts?

The only thing I discovered is that there are several metronome apps available for ipod touch which might keep me moving painstakingly, accurately slow. i was a little disappointed that it (slow burn,) wasn't available on kindle or audible b/c I think I would like it to read the description and details to me, while completing the move.

I personally am a Cathe Friedrich fan. I would definitely suggest going to collagevideo.com and watching previews. Also - FWIW - I think through Collage you can return a workout if you don't like it (but you'd definitely want to double check that factoid before ordering  ).
