Willpower is the art of replacing one habit for another.
Michael Garofalo
Isn't that what we're doing? Simply replacing habits!

Breakfast will be a protein shake with ricotta, since I'm out of almond milk. Lunch will be a cheeseburger and some carrots. Dinner will be sauteed beef and a salad.

I love Fridays. The first thing I do is shut off my alarm for the weekend.

That's exactly what we are doing. But in a good way. We're replacing bad eating and lifestyle habits with healthy eating and lifestyle habits.

Oh I'm into Fridays too! Especially in the fall of the year. I'm a big hometown football supporter. Although I can't go to the games anymore, I'm there via the local radio station. I even get a shout out on the radio every game.
Saturday brings me Penn State football followed by the Steelers on Sunday.

Wow what a surprise this morning, woke up to about 2-3" of snow on the ground. I'm not ready for this.

Breakfast- 1/2c cottage cheese, 7 breakfast sausage links, 47gms strawberries. 2c green tea.
40gms protein, 9gms carbs

Lunch- Salad, (2c roughly chopped romaine; 1/2 med avocado, cubed; 1/4c cubed cucumber; 1/8c chopped onion; 1 boiled egg, quartered lengthwise; 1 slice crumbled bacon; 5ozs shredded chicken breast; 2T bleu cheese dressing. 2c green tea. 43gms protein, 9gms carbs

Supper- 6oz grilled sirloin pork chop, 10 grilled asparagus spears, 1/2 med grilled peach, 2c green tea.
42gms protein, 8gms carbs.

I oppologize for my posts. When I type them out I always double space at certain points, I.E. Between breakfast and lunch; lunch and supper. But for some reason I cannot get the final result to recognize the double spacing. So everyting on my screen appears to be all jammed up.

I've been reading up a bit on replacing habits lately (http://zenhabits.net). Our minds have been very in tune this month Carol, almost spooky. ;) Actually I think its just me finally pulling my head out of the sand and trying to sort it out.

The biggest point to reiterate: change one habit at a time. Trying to do too many simultaneously often leads to failure to maintain the change.

Today: B,L,S = shake
Dinner will be meatloaf and cauli w/goat cheese.

Oh yeah, Fridays. :) With so little work this week, and so much rain, the days have run together a bit. We're expecting up to an inch of rain today alone and its been raining, with the exception of yesterday afternoon, since Tues. :(

I am BIG on habits. But I call them "routines".

In my OA program, I always tell sponsees, make the tools your routine, so that in rough times, you just have to do what you always do-and it will require no thought-but it will keep you on track.

For me, that is planning my meals and recording my food every day.

And although I haven't been listing it here for you guys, I'm still doing it.

I am so far behind at work because of the stupid surgery...I am REALLY looking forward to the weekend.

Day two of vacation ... yesterday was a travel day, but I remained on plan (3 hb eggs for breakfast, peanuts on the first leg of the plane trip, chicken ceasar salad with no dressing in Cincinnati, then a "breakfast for dinner" at a Bob Evans restaurant in Fredonia, NY ... two eggs, three bacon and three sausage). Today was a breakfast of two eggs, 3 bacon strips and coffee.

Not sure I'll be able to stay completely on plan over the next week, but I'll try!

Habits... routines... I call mine ruts :) Not in a negative way as I like my ruts and it's where I feel comfortable. Occasionally I'll shift from one rut to another to change things up a bit but I don't venture too far out.

B: Sausage/eggs w/ cheese
L: Atkins shake & carbmaster yogurt
D: Planned but I forget

Although I'm getting a little skittish about eating habits labeled "healthy". It seems that whenever I look into something about healthy eating, it's low-fat and lots of grains. :suspicious:

Incidentally, your line spacing looks fine at this end.

I seem to be munching aimlessly this morning. (closing up the carrot bag :o) I brought jerky bits instead of nuts today for a snack. Lunch is officially OVER, Carol! :paranoid::nod::slywink:

Ahh, remembered dinner.

The kielbasa thing from a couple weeks ago. Whole kielbasa, cut into half. Each half cut longways, put some condiments inside and some cheese, wrap the whole thing in bacon to reclose it (toothpicks to hold it closed). Then cook until the bacon is done.

Tasty.

My habits are, apparently, like Spruce's ruts. I have to keep myself on a tightly controlled path - or I'll be off skipping to the store, eating ice cream and cookies.;)

I'll have bacon and eggs for breakfast and a protein shake for lunch. We'll be dining out tonight - don't know where, but I know I'll eat appropriately.:D

We have another band review in Santa Cruz this weekend. We'll be busy, busy!

B: 2 eggs
L: 2 patties with cheese, and reduced sugar ketchup! (ya baby)
D: Chicken breasts and salad, with olive oil

I feel good today. Which isn't what I can say about the last two days. I'm having a ruff time sleeping too. Maybe tonight will be better. Tomorrow is my daughters 2nd B-day. So excited for her! THINK TOYS! :paranoid:

Oh and avoid CAKE!

I purchased some carb wise chocolate ice-cream for me. My step mom's going to hate it when I don't touch this massively over priced, peice of sugar she is bringing. What ever... ***cuts it up and puts it in baggies for them to take home***

Goal for the day: Drink more water.

I have to agree, Kathee. I'm not a compulsive dieter, I'm a compulsive eater, so I have to keep guard like somebody's trying to kill me!

Wow! What a great plan, Kisha! Say NO to GUILT!

My dinner turned out to be a Culver's salad. They've discontinued the beef and avocado one, so I ended up with chicken and cashew. I love it, but it's more than 20ecc, so it's a once-in-a-while treat.

Ate as planned. Dinner wasn't quite as good last time but I blame it on beef kielbasa instead of pork

Dinner ended up being linguica and eggs with a side salad (no croutons!).

I think you're right beef kielbasa has a lot to be desired. Make mine pork please!! I think its the pork fat...lots of flavor.
