Well, since we had so many slackards last week, I thought I'd better get a thread up early to remind you all that wasted days can't be made up - but we can always improve our performance :suspicious:.

This week I'm going to go to slightly heavier weights than last week (doing a weekly pyramid structure this month) so my line up is:
Sunday - Legs
Monday - Cardio
Tuesday - Back & biceps
Thursday - Cardio
Friday - Chest & triceps

Now, do NOT leave me so lonely this week or I will find a way to zing you through cyber space !

Sorry for leaving you lonely, I guess I was afraid of spreading cyber cooties, that's how contagious I felt. Not breathing as well as I would like yet, but at least i feel human again. I may need to re-invent (my) moving and shaking this week.

Ease back into it gradually, Martha :). Remember it was not listening to your body to begin with that made it so cranky at you ;).

There are some bugs flying around here, too. The Geezer is down and out right now, but I'm not going to catch it. :D

Upper body tonight plus 20 min on the arc trainer. People at the gym are reporting viruses too. :p I'm washing my hands a lot and taking vitamin D3.

Hi,

I've just been out and about for a hospital check up, so have been bus wrangling again ;) I decided to build more walking into my trip, and stop off on the way back to visit a shop that I have wanted to look in for ages. Big mistake. I spent lots of money, and my left knee is telling me that more than 2 buses in one day is not to it's liking :( (I did have an almighty struggle to get on the last one with a shopping bag, which I didn't think was heavy - just awkward carrying more than my handbag, I suppose, and the wretched driver started to close the doors before I was fully down on the pavement when I got off  ) However I did get a big silicon flan mould that will be great for family sized crustless quiches, and also some silicon muffin cases that I have been looking for, so if you'll excuse me, I'll be heading off to the recipe section :)

I am sorry your knee is not liking you today :(. I think it's a great plan you had - but maybe you need to take tinier steps to get to your goal ;). However I did get a big silicon flan mould that will be great for family sized crustless quiches, and also some silicon muffin cases that I have been looking for, so if you'll excuse me, I'll be heading off to the recipe section :)
Oh wow - how fun! Not quite as good as exercise toys, but kitchen toys definitely run a close second :D!

Well, I hate to say it but I have not much to report:o. Last Thursday I came back home with a running nose and a mild fever. Troubles with breathing but no headaches (which is essential). Anyway, apart from 25 minutes on stationary bike (HIIT) this afternoon, I did nothing. I feel much better, so maybe I will be around for the rest of the week? Next week is free from classes (reading period as they call it), so I hope to do some serious 25-30 min M&S sessions. See you tomorrow.

I think Martha gave me the flu. Or Carol's geezer. :o I'm going to be horizontal under a blanket as much as possible for the next few days I think.

I think Martha gave me the flu. Or Carol's geezer. :o Sorry to hear that, Jilly! :p He's getting better but now the kid has it. He went to work anyway. Tuck yourself in for a couple of days and drink lots of liquids.

I'm going to try to get an extra hour of sleep for a few days.

No gym tonight because we're taking my mom out for her birthday. Tomorrow I have a dental appointment that will get in the way, too. Thursday and Friday are lookin' good.

I told you guys :) I tried to stay off the forum, I knew how easily it could be transmitted. Now, if only they had a vaccine that worked this effectively. I'm not back on my game yet. I am walking to and from remote parking, but that's it. I'm gonna need Karole to do the doubles for me when she gets back. I'm miles behind goal. (Hope that doesn't scare her away, but she seems pretty tough to me.)

Today is a rest day for me, but I did do some marathon shopping before work this morning since there were some good meat sales on at two different stores ;). Nothing like flying through the stores between 4:30 and 6 in the morning !

Mitra - Quit taking pictures and report in !

Karole - Get off that horse, already, and come see us !

Isis - Are you still lambasted at work :(?

Sandy - Where are you these days ?????

And of course, we always have room for some we haven't heard from in forever, like Hawk, Dean, Amy, Sharon, Heather, Brigit-Carol (how's that house coming?), Agnes, Aaron and anyone else I forgot to mention!

Yes, I miss Puddin too - unfortunately, she never hung around long enough to get on my list :o.

Oh shucks, now that you mention it, that is what she said . For some reason, I was thinking it was just 10 days this month - but that must have been the trip before. Jeez - she travels too much !

I'm sure, though, if I keep talking about her, she'll show up ;)....

That's why I had to make a deal with myself years ago that reading could not be done until after I exercised. It is a great reward to work towards - if you can just make the pact with yourself ;).

Now you mention it, I seem to remember doing something similar once before. I printed some bookmarks as a reminder every time I opened a book, that I shouldn't be reading it if I hadn't exercised yet.

Today's my husband's birthday, and he's having the day off work, so I'm not sure how it will pan out.

I rested my left knee yesterday, but have just walked to the dentist and back (must be the week for the dentist!). I am a bit puffed, but the knee seems to be OK. For now I can live with needing to rest for one day after travelling on a bus, but I hope that the buses will get easier as I get lighter. And the good news is that there is nothing wrong with my teeth :D

I think he's enjoying the day. I've just been crawling in all the dusty wires at the back of the hi-fi so we could connect the record player (yes, vinyl ) to the laptop to copy a few old favourites that were never released as CDs. So I'm sneezing and wheezing, but he's got some nice big files to pore over, and can look forward to spending happy weeks cleaning up the pops and hiss.

The ankle is still a bit temperamental, but is doing a lot better. The last few trips to London haven't left him hobbling for days.

I'll work on viewing reading as a bad habit, but I don't think I'll ever quite believe it ;).

You know, I'd just love to have my record collection back and be able to do the same thing! Unfortunately, mine was "lost" in a time long ago and far away . However, it sounds like a perfect project for DH ! Maybe not for you, though ;).

Unfortunately, it took years - and I mean over two decades - for mine to strengthen. But even to this day, a damp or cold day, stepping wrong, etc, can still make it throb and ache.

I'll work on viewing reading as a bad habit, but I don't think I'll ever quite believe it ;).
No, no, silly woman! It's not a bad habit - it's a reward that has to be earned! Read all you want - will my blessings, in fact - but only AFTER you've exercised to deserve it !

Don't worry, I didn't mean it. Once I get started it's hard enough to convince myself that it would be a good idea to put my book down for half an hour to do some exercise or cook dinner. Before I was married, at the weekend, or on days off, I'd get up and read until bedtime, just about remembering to eat, and usually not remembering to drink anything. The sacrifices we make when we get married!

I concur with that sentiment! Of course, aside from getting regular meals, they have to make sacrifices too. I think.

Oh, and I should report my workout. Upper and lower today because I have a jam tomorrow, so time will be tight.

Oh, I remember those days :) When somebody lent me Watership Down I started reading it one Friday evening, enjoyed it so much that I just kept reading, right through the night and well into Saturday until I finished it. Sadly, practical considerations of sharing accommodation with 3 other people aside, I doubt I would be able to stay awake these days :(.
