The most essential factor is persistence -- the determination never to allow your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come.
James Whitcomb Riley
We all have ups and downs. If you slip, you just get right back up and keep going!

Breakfast today will be a protein shake. Lunch will be beef and vegetables. Dinner will be something with ground beef. My dinner last night turned into a wonderful Greek salad. Found a new restaurant!

I feel I'm persistent in my efforts to lose weight. I always refer to it as "sticktoitiveness" figure that one out.

I did my hour of exercise this morning.

My first grandchild, Celestia, celebrated her 18th birthday yesterday. Wow! Hardly seems possible. Time is going by to quickly.

Breakfast- Cheesy Spinach Omelet(1T olive oil; 1/8 onion, diced; 1 clove garlic, minced; 1c/21gms spinach; 2 slices turkey bacon(I use Esskay's), diced; 4 eggs, beaten; 1oz cream cheese, small dice, 2c green tea. 40gms protein, 6gms carbs.

Lunch- 6oz grilled chicken; 1c steamed buttered broccoli, 2c green tea.
45gms protein, 7gms carbs.

Supper- Baked orange-roughy fillet; 1/2c wax beans; 1/2 med peach, 2c green tea.
42gms protein, 9gms carbs.

Good morning all! It has been a while since I've checked in. Things have gone just so-so, I kind of got sidetracked (plan-wise) for several days. I am having a difficult time lately, between stress (work and family related), work, frustration, and sickness. I had an excruciatingly sore throat for 3 weeks, went to my doctor and he couldn't find anything wrong, but managed to get a same-morning appointment with an ENT as a new patient!! He put me on some strong anti-biotics and my sore throat is FINALLY on the mend.

Todays plan:
1: strawberry protein shake, 3 slices of bacon
2: protein shake, mixed salad with parmesan cheese, baby carrots, italian dressing.
3: hardboiled eggs, small apple
4: will be dinner out with the bookclub at an Italian restaurant, so am considering an antipasto salad? Will abstain from bread/pasta. :)

Workout: in addition to walking to and from work today, I am going to a yoga class at lunch.

Have a good day all!

I'm glad the throat is getting better and I hope the stress soon follows!

I'm going to try posting to make myself accountable!

Breakfast - Protein shake

Lunch - leftover spaghetti (dreamfields) w/ground beef and pasta sauce

Dinner???

Taking the dog to the kennel after work and packing for a long weekend in San Antonio with friends so dinner will be out somewhere. As for the weekend...I have to choose well when possible, otherwise I'll limit portions. I'll have a great weekend, and get back on plan when I get home.

Hey Amy - I like persistently wacky!!!

It's stress city at my place. Our the band review that we host each year, CCBR is closing in on me (Nov 14th). There's so much to do in so little time...

Right now, I am trying to create new and special holiday ornaments as November's projects for my classes.

Today, breakfast and lunch will be a protein shake and dinner will be skirt steak and vegies.

Off to paint...!

Great, Vivian! I was just about to invite you. :)

It's stress city at my place. Kathee, good luck with the deadlines. When you're home free, why don't you show us your ornaments? Either here or in OD@AT. Love to see them!

I have a meat loaf in the oven. I'll have it with a salad or green beans. The boys will get mashed potatoes with theirs.

Dinner ended up being quiznos at home. Not real quiznos but we sometimes make the chicken carbonera w/o the bread. Homemade alfredo sauce, chicken, bacon bits. It's very tasty and I put mine on romaine lettuce to make it more sandwich like.

I think I'm going to start adding string cheese to my lunch. Something to last me a little better through the afternoon.
