I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

Keep your focus on carbs and protein. We’re into the last week of October now; can you believe it?
Breakfast will be a protein shake. Lunch is breakfast sausage. Dinner will be pan-fried pork chops.

Its so easy to lose focus wth the hustle bustle of everyday life. That's why its so important to plan ahead in your meals and exercise.
I had a good day yesterday as far as my meals go. Exercise is another matter. The pedaling for my lower body seems to be irritating my existing disability. So I'm taking a short break. Then I'll restart with a program of less frequency. I'm thinking of 3 days a week instead of my present 7 day a week schedule.
Not much planned for today.
Breakfast- 2
whole eggs, 4 whites, 3 Esskay turkey bacon, 70gms blackberries, 2c green tea
43gms protein, 11gms carbs.
Lunch- 5oz grilled burger, 1oz cheddar cheese, freezer slaw, 2c green tea.
42gms protein, 6gms carbs.
Supper- 6oz Cajun spiced orange-roughy fillet; tomato basil salad (1 med(5.2oz) tomato, 1/8c chopped onion, 4 thinly sliced basil leaves) dressed w/evoo & taragon vinegar; 1/2 med grilled peach, 2c green tea
40gms protein, 8gms carbs.
Holy MOLY has this month flown by!
With my appendectomy, and mom's knee replacement...I've been just surviving each day the best I can!
I must admit...while mom was in the hospital it was a real wake up call...she had to have a "plus size" commode and wheelchair. I saw her squeeze into a basic shower chair, and I do mean squeeze.
All reminders why I eat the way I eat...
*sigh*
And I was talking with a friend of mine recentloy who was telling me that she took a plane and flew over the grand canyon, but her and her partner were so "heavy" that they told them they could only do it if they rented the entire 5-person plane since weight-wise they couldn't fit any more people into the plane.
Sad reminders, but reminders none-the-less.
Today I have a plan. Thank goodness that when I cook, I usually end up making 6-8 servings, so I have a few backups in the freezer for weeks like this.
I'm totally on back-up meals as I was gone all weekend helping mom.
8am brat wrap, 2hb eggs
11:30 lc goulash, small cuke
3pm 1/2 apple, 1oz peanuts
6pm roast beef, rutabaga, carrot, onion

I'm thinking of 3 days a week instead of my present 7 day a week schedule. A wise decision, Bill. Your body lets you know when something's not working. At least mine does! My chiro has a big poster about the damage we do by exercising when things are out of alignment.
Sad reminders, but reminders none-the-less.
Good reinforcers, Amy. Sad for them, but don't you have a sense of accomplishment (not complacency) that you're not in that position any more? I used to have a list of what I wanted to be able to do and everything's been checked off. Of course, now I have a NEW list! How is your mom coming along? Are you going back soon?
I'm up to my eyeballs in little teeny numbers today while I try to reconcile a fund raising account. I even worked through lunch. I've been blessed with very few interruptions. I'm stuck now so I came up for air...

Mom is doing well. She needs help with her knee machine so the children are on a two week schedule, so yes, I go again Thurs thru Sunday.
I'm hoping that by the time I leave on Sunday, she is able to roll into her machine on her own...but we'll see...
This is not my mom, but it's a picture of the machine

Yes, this was a weekend full of reminders...
My FIL has had diabetes for many years which, as you would imagine, has done serious harm to his heart and kidneys. We are going to lose him soon. So this is a fresh and painful reminder to keep eating correctly.
On top of all this, our office was broken into yet again and the alarm company doesn't know why the alarm didn't go off. Ah, more stress.
Breakfast was a protein shake. Lunch was bacon and eggs. Don't know about dinner yet...
