I just wanted to post my results of 90 days on the PP. I always get find motivation in reading these posts of success.

I am a 29 year old female that started at 271lbs. This is my highest weight. I was stunned at the number when I stepped on the scale. Sad.
I have been doing the plan for 90 days and just recently joined a gym (within the last week.)

I have lost 55 lbs., went from a size 24 to an 18. When I moved to Chicago (a week before I started the plan) I couldn't walk a mile without a lot of effort; now I can walk 6 miles at a time with no problem. I can do 55 mins on the ellipitical on the interval setting. I have more energy, clear skin and a different outlook on life.

The move to Chicago and the decision to take control of my life has changed me. Why did I wait so long?

Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for their support. I am mostly a lurker, but do find this board useful even if just for the community of people like me. Thanks

Renae

Good job, Renae! I love that you joined a gym, because I think resistance is the absolute best way to sculpt your body. Muscle will burn fat and your clothes will fit better. Please keep us posted. Do you lurk in Movers & Shakers? Shadow can help you sort out what to work on. Are you on your own or do you have a trainer?

I don't lurk over at the movers and shakers, but will take a look. I have been going to the gym five days a week. I weight train 3 days on my upper body and 2 days on my lower body. Then I do my cardio everyday. It has been working so far, but I am always up for suggestions. I plan on buying myself some personal training sessions for my Christmas present. By then I will need some new weight training ideas. We will see how it goes.
I have the advantage of being a formerly nationally ranked tennis player. I spent most of my teen years surrounded by trainers in the gym. I picked up a lot of good advice.

I will head over to the Movers and Shakers section.

Thanks.

In that case, Renae, you can come and give US advice! Actually, your routine looks a lot like mine already, but I'm very much an amateur. ;)

Hey there..CONGRATS.. I too am a bit of a lurker (here and on the other low carb forums)..I did low carb (Atkins) in 2003 and lost almost 100 lbs..now I've gained most of it back. I've been "trying" to get back on a low carb plan for about 4 months..cant seem to get myself where I was mentally in 2003 to actually stick with it..
I'd love to know what has worked for you over the last 90 days..how many carbs total were you doing...any clue on about how many cals you were eating..or were you even paying attention..any foods you stayed toally away from..even though they may have been "allowed"..like LC tortilla's, nuts or anything like that?
And..you say you just joined the gym last week, but sounds like you've been working out for a while..when did you start working out..and what all were you doing initially??
I would love to have some success to hear about to jumpstart me..
