Last week I was looking for motivation to start over and stick with it this time. We spent a weekend with dear friends that are right around my age. Almost all were talking about refilling their cholesterol or bp meds and one has just been told she has arthritis in her hip and another has bursitis in his hip. I had trouble walking slowly enough not to run off and leave everyone! Even though I was getting around very well comparatively speaking, when we played miniature golf I had trouble bending over to pick up the ball.

Went to the store yesterday and stocked up: Rotisserie turkey breast, fresh squash and asparagus, eggs (already boiled for after work snacks). Hubby's out of town some this week, so the turkey will probably last all week.

Got out the yoga book and did the beginner poses for flexibility, will work my way up on those, and did 15 minutes on the elliptical - will add time each day to that.

At not quite 50, I am too young to feel this @#%# old and creaky. I will repeat that sentence to myself several times a day and resolve to do something about it!

Our "group" will be together again this week, so I'm going to tell everyone that I'm back on the low-carb wagon. Maybe that will keep me on the straight and narrow, knowing that my friends are watching. I would really love to have some dramatic results and they will jump on the wagon with me!
