Thank all of you so much for your show of concern for my brother.

He's still in the hospital. His blood sugars are close to normal now due to insulin injections. He was previously being treated with oral meds. The blood lipid counts are slowly responding to an aggressive statin treatment and diet changes(so they say(low fat)).
They still have no idea what caused his condition. Liver, pancreas and kidney function tests all came up normal. He had a slight elevation of white blood counts which indicates a possible infection but they don't know where. He's receiving anibiotics for it.
His doctor told him it was going to be slow process to get such high blood lipid levels back to normal.

Thank goodness, Bill! That was frightening. I hope they get to the bottom of it.

Thanks Carol. We were scared. At such high levels of sugar and blood lipids could have caused so many other tragic results.

What a relief, Bill! I'm with Carol - I sure hope they can figure out why this happened.

My brother is being discharged today. His sugar levels are under control and near normal levels. His blood lipids are still very high but they are responding to statin treatment. Still don't know why his system went haywire. His doctor is keeping a close eye on him.

Thank all of you for prayers and concern.
