Hey all.
I'm a new member, back on PP since getting a major lecture from my doctor that I need to get back with the program, get my carbs down, get my estrogen level down, and get healthy.
In 2001, I went from 270 to 176 using PP. Later I relaxed my lifestyle and went back up to 260 by 2008. By March 2009 I managed to get down to 208, but once again lost my focus and went back up to 235.
I have a number of medical problems including hypertension, asthma, and an auto-immune disorder that manifests in different ways at different times: for about 18 years I had chronic hives, for many years I have had joint pain and fatigue, and most of the time I just don't feel very energetic.
Since 10/27 I have lost 10# resticting my carbs to 50 per day.
Complicating my life is the fact that I currently have to work full-time at a job that is physically demanding and absolutely wears me out.
Positives: my doctor and chiropractor are on the same page with me and encourage me to keep eatling LC.
I eat a lot of meat, mainly pork and chicken, quite a few eggs, some cheese and a little yogurt, salads with lunch and supper, and other veggies and LC fruits. I drink 1/2 gallon of water per day along with some coffee and the occasional diet soda. I'm finding ways to incorporate flax meal.
I do 3-4 hours aerobic exercise per week, along with about 1 hour of moderate weight training, as well as stretching per my chiro.
My main temptations are sweets, especially chocolate. If they are around, I tend to just eat them, so I don't keep them in the house. Unfortunately, work is a random environment and sweets show up in the break room with some frequency. So far I have been able to abstain.
Any and all support and suggestions will be accepted. Thank you!
