I am so struggling with missing milk. I dont drink tea or coffee, I drink fruit juice and milk. now I cant drink either and all I can drink is water. I miss milk so badly...yesterday morning i had a glass of milk and it was almost half my daily carbs...so i ended up going over a bit by the end of the day.
I have lost 5 lbs and except for the milk I am doing good. this is my most difficult struggle staying on PP.

Have you tried unsweetened soy milk or any of the nut milks? Depending on your personal taste buds some can be an acceptable substitute.
Remember that cow's milk is full of bovine immune globulins for calves, and requires special digestion; not exactly the stuff you want to be feeding your (human) digestive and immune systems.

Good luck with finding something to drink. I have found if I stick to water only for about 96 hours, the other cravings start to fall away.

Lucille,
Two possible options.

1...diet v8 juice. It's 2ecc per 8oz and it's pretty good. Two flavor options. I buy mine at my local grocery store.
2...add stuff to your water, like crystal light.

thanks. yes i have heard that milk isnt the best for our bodies. I am doing better tonight, determined not to let that one food keep me from succeeding on this plan.
I bought crystal light today and tried it, its good. I think I also just have to get used to drinking more water.

Once you're use to water, I bet it gets easier to drink.

I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk quite a bit (called Almond Breeze I think). It is fine for drinking and also works well for making egg custards and egg nog. I get it at our local health food store.

I use unsweetened Almond Breeze for my shakes often. I get it at a local grocery store, which is probably less expensive. (I never actually compared prices.) Interesting that only one of three supermarkets offers the unsweetened variety. Check the ingredients if you're not sure.

You might want to look into an occasional glass of (low-carb) whey or casein powder in water.

I find that casein in particular is very milk-like. Plus you can use it to make hot chocolate! (Try that with whey and you'll end up with a cup full of protein clumps.)
