Good morning! We’ve been at this challenge for a week; has anyone set up landmarks that can be measured? Would you like to share small successes? I’ve seen some already, just by reading what you posted.
I had a great time at the conference. The meals almost always included some plain protein and a fruit or vegetable that would work for me. I augmented with the trail cookies and the other portable protein I brought when necessary. One morning they served three kinds of egg casserole, all full of potatoes! The weather was in the upper sixties, low seventies. So wonderful! My mom and I walked every day and took part in the contra dancing one night. I love it, but it’s rough on the knees. Thanks for filling in for me.
Breakfast is a protein shake. Lunch will be cheese and sausage, dinner will be hamburgers. For a snack, I have leftover trail cookies. Life is good!

It has been a great week for me for getting back on =track with low carbing and getting eating habits tamed. I was way off the mark and just waiting for "the change" which would never have happened.
I am down 6 pounds. I know I cannot sustain that loss but will set mini targets and go from there. My doctor told me last year when I was having a back problem that "a 10% drop in body weight will reduce 90% of your back pain". Getting active in 2 Dodgeball Teams again cleared most of the back pain but I still feel it when doing yard work, etc..
As well I will FitDay my progress since I have to turn in a food log to the Nutritionist on the 20th.

Good to have you back Carol,-- and that weekend sounds like great fun !! Weather cooperated too, lucky you.
I haven't been doing very well so far on the challenge for November, of course I was sick several days but, it does seem to me I have a hard time this time of year, every year, and if I gain anything it is during the holiday season.:o:cry:
That's one reason I am thinking about doing the "cure". But I also tend to want to wait until after the holidays are behind us. Guess I will reread the book and make up my mind after that.
In the meantime I am going to work on this November challenge !!:nod:
I survived the weekend mostly on plan ( a bit high on Saturday but I did dance a little so...??).
I have a plan today. And thank goodness I only have to think about today.
I'm hovering around a 5lb loss, but want to make sure it's sustained before I move my ticker to the next 5lbs.
8:30am brat wrap, 2hb eggs
11:30am lc goulash, med cuke
2:30pm 1/2 grapefruit, 30 almonds
6pm 5oz salmon, 3c lettuce with 1oz cheese and 2tbsp ranch dressing
Pro: 113.6
Ecc: 32

Cal: 1626
Started my morning with am yoga and 5min on the RED (ab workout). I should get in a walk later as well...we'll see.

I was a little loose with things on the weekend food wise so I'll be a bit more disciplined for the next while. So far, one week , into November's challenge I have done well in my area of focus, exercise. Just need to keep it going.
B: the usual
L: I might just have a shake today, nothing's really prepared
D: chicken I think, with salad
Didn't get any food prep done for the week yesterday so that's definitely on the agenda for today.

You're not alone in that, Karole. That's why we ramped it up a bit for November. We want it to be very hard to ignore the daily steps that take us through all that emotional holiday eating.
That's one reason I am thinking about doing the "cure". But I also tend to want to wait until after the holidays are behind us. Guess I will reread the book and make up my mind after that.
Doing it now would be an investment that you might think twice about wasting. Planing it for later might be a way of staying aware during the holidays.
In the meantime I am going to work on this November challenge !!:nod:YES! I missed you last month. :)

"Landmark?" I think the landmark decision for me would be starting my exercise program again.
I'm running late today because Doy and I spent some time volunteering at the VA hospital. Its something we do occasionally to show our support for our countries brave soldiers.

43gms protein, 11gms carbs.
Lunch- 5oz grilled burger, 1oz cheddar cheese, freezer slaw, 2c green tea.
42gms protein, 6gms carbs.
Supper- 6oz Cajun spiced orange-roughy fillet; tomato basil salad (1 med(5.2oz) tomato, 1/8c chopped onion, 4 thinly sliced basil leaves) dressed w/evoo & taragon vinegar; 1/2 med grilled peach, 2c green tea

You're on for the prep challenge tonight! I'll post later what I was able to get done.
 Thanks for the reminder, Jilly! I forgot to get the sausage out of the freezer. I'll make some cheeseburger patties that will last a couple of days. :o

Yes, I noticed that, Bill. :)

Good job, Karole.
I found some fresh mushrooms called Baby Bellas that I added to the pan when I turned the burger. When they were done, I covered the burger with a slice of provolone and heaped the mushrooms on top. What a treat!
Survived the day. Ate exactly as I said.
Let's hope the scale rewards me tomorrow......
good night all

Howdy all... I was on the puter jsut not in a posting mood over the weekend. All "on plan" with shakes and meals though I'm finding that on the weekends I dont get all 3 shakes in, seems like the way the day goes I only get 2 plus the meal. Since it happened last weekend and again on Saturday I added an extra scoop of powder to one of my Sunday shakes... just a bit of a protein booster.
On target today as well, 3 shakes, 2 burger patties for lunch. I meant to take baby carrots but left them at home.
Guess my landmark to report is that I've made it almost through the 1st 2 weeks of the 6w thing... tomorrow is the last shake day.
Now off to do my DWTS voting....

I ate as planned for the day, kept the calories a smidge lower than usual because of the over-eating on the weekend. I honestly don't know if doing that is a good idea or not, there seems to be quite a lot of conflicting opinion on "making up for extra calories by cutting calories in the following few days" And then of course there's the whole question of if over-eating a bit is detrimental if you've kept your carbs low, most LCer's would say its not. Again I am probably focusing too much on the details. Too much time on my hands with this crappy weather and no work.
I did get some eggs boiled up, cauliflower cut up and made enough dinner for leftovers for lunch tomorrow. :)

I don't count it overeating unless it's overeating carbs. If that happens, I draw back to moderate protein and fat for a bit. I agree there are as many opinions as there are bloggers.
