Okay, gang - we are headed into the holiday season so you need to plan, plan, plan what you're going to do and when. For this month, those of you who slack off the week of Thanksgiving need to make sure to give it extra effort this week and again the week after. Holidays don't mean vacations, ya know ! It's also not too early to start thinking of your December plans since that tends to be an even busier month for most :exclamation:

I just started a 3 1/2 month rotation - yes, that's month ;) - so there will be no problem with me getting exercise in over the holidays. Hopefully all of you will also realize where your weaknesses/crunch times will happen this holiday season and set up a schedule that is do-able to get through. Most of us find that when we exercise we stay on plan much better. The holidays are no excuse to fall off the wagon for more than a meal or maybe two at the most. Make a plan and stick with it. You will be very thankful you did come the New Year .

Now - the pep talk is over so let's get to it! I hope to see some serious M&S going on this week!!!

Whoops I just posted in last weeks section. All I did was yard work for over an hour and a half but I am pooped so it must have been good for me. I will do resistance tomorrow.

Work is going to be a bit crazy this week for me, we're starting a project that will run 24 hours a day. I'm not really sure when I'll be working or how much, but probably a lot. It's a good thing though as after this things will really slow down. I don't work much in the winter anyway, and especially with the economy still being down quite a bit. :(

So for me, working out is easier through the winter as I have a lot more spare time. I'm just not sure how it will coincide with DS's schedule. But if she can't make it I will still get my workouts done. We did full body this morning and hope to continue full body workouts every 4-5 days, and I'll probably add some extra ab work and stretching in between. :)

I'm not at all worried about Thanksgiving, we had it in October.

Monday 11/16/09

30 minutes leg work on the pedaling machine.
15 minute warmup on the pedaler for the upper body.
1 set 15 reps of bicep curls, tricep extensions, front deltoid raises, side deltoid raises, wrist curls, bench press and butterflies using five pounds.
10 minute upper body cool down on the pedaler.

This was a tough session this morning. My pain level was up and the leg work was excruciating but I got through it. I would never wish nerve pain on my worst enemy.

The sun is back so a walk is in order.
This week will be UB/LB WO with wts on M-W-F. HIIT bike and/or ellipt on T-T-S. Walks whenever the opportunity comes up.
Did I mention the sun is back?

Today is a off day. No exercise today and I'm taking advantage. I'm just going to relax and try to get this pain under control. Breaking out the heating pad, though I have to be careful with it. Because of the type of nerve damage I have. I have burnt myself with a heating in the past.

Sun - brisk walk with DH along the beach - 45 min
Mon - 10 min Solution Thighs (only 10 min but I my little grey cells worked really hard:lol:)
Tue - 15 min upper body (Tamilee) & 10 min abs (Crunch Pick Your Spot Pilates)

OOPS! forgot to post. Do not want to feel the wrath of the Shadow.
Yesterday went according to plan with wts and stretches + a one mile stroll.
Today was HIIT on the bike and a short walk due to a balky hip (happens once in awhile- had the other replaced 8 years ago). If Bill can endure what he goes through, I certainly can put up with this tiny inconvenience.
Tomorrow, I will incorporate a few isometric exercises in with the light weights. In the past, I have found this routine to be very taxing but with no soreness or injury. It helps diversify workouts.
See ya tomorrow

Taxed was the wrong description- the routine of light weights combined with 7 isometric type exercises gives me that temporary tiredness that soon turns into feeling as tho I have done something good for myself. Pure rubbish, of course, but it's my story and I stick with it. As I become more chronologically experienced, when I pick up any slightly weighty object I feel as tho I have accomplished something. I think I'm rambling.

Today - it was 10 mins on the stat bike, 30 mins of light wts and isometrics. Later a short walk as the hip is better.

Step away from the whip !!!

Let your lower jaw drop !!! :jawDrop:

Prepare to be amazed !! (well sort of););)

I have completed not one-- but 2 segments of my Total Body routine. True I wasn't able to do all the jumping jacks along with that 20 year old girl on the dvd but I did keep moving and did all the weight routines with her. That was the first time I did more than just the first segment so will keep working on it till I can get it all.

So a total of 30 min. of deliberate exercise. (I will certainly advise you if I happen to do any more during the day

Today is an off day. Over the past several days I've discovered that I need these off days. I was only doing stretching exercises. But was doing them rather often and vigorously. I'm going to just do a light stretch in the morning to get myself going.

We have to listen to our bodies. It'll give us warning signs, we just have to heed them. Some maybe able to do 7 day exercise routines some may not. Listen to your body and let it tell you what's best for yourself.

Bother. I was hoping to sneak under your radar. Should have known it was impossible

DH took Mon-Wed as leave, and we attacked some of the clutter that has accumulated over the last 3 years or so. His help was so valuable that I am afraid that I wasn't going to waste it while I did exercise ;) although there was a fair bit of bending and lifting involved any way. However there is now a lot more space for excercising in future :(

I hesitate to have to say this, given what Bill overcomes, but my duff leg started to trouble me yesterday. I don't want it to develop into the phlebitis that I have had a few times before, so I am keeping it elevated as much as I can. It seems to be doing the trick as I haven't needed any Ibuprofen today. I shall report for duty as soon as I can.

Um, no, not at all, I'm finally disgustingly healthy, I'm out looking for Amy. It's a little problem b/c we've never seen each other live and in person, but I'll get in all the exercise I need if she meets me halfway.

Ok, truth time, work has been ridiculous but...I'm on leave, most of the week so, I've got a plan. Trail ride (Catrike) tomorrow. Buddy talked me into an extra Karole lap, to count the houses with Christmas lights, he's so excited (ok he'd be excited just to leash up to take the trash out but...) Work Mon, so recover; then start again, Thanksgiving and holidays aren't going get me this time.

Yes the Shadow knows! I am sure you didn't listen to that radio show as a kid- your parents probably told you about it.

Yesterday went as planned, exercise wise, in spite of a huge lunch.
Today, I've finished HIIT on the bike and a one and a half mile walk. Don't have anything else planned except a nap.

Tomorrow a day off although I usually get in a nice walk on Sundays if the weather is decent.

See you on Monday

Um, no, not at all, I'm finally disgustingly healthy, I'm out looking for Amy. It's a little problem b/c we've never seen each other live and in person, but I'll get in all the exercise I need if she meets me halfway.
You've been hanging around this gang too long, Martha !

That sounds MUCH better :D!!!! Stick with Buddy - he won't lead you astray ;)!

I did lower body (mildly) today and fifteen minutes on the arc trainer followed by a visit to my chiro. I should be all set for the weekend. Mostly sitting in chairs playing music, eating in restaurants and talking to friends. :p It's tough, but I think I'm up to it! :D
Wow - hope you don't get too stressed from it all  ;)! Way to go getting that workout in before the fun begins !

Yes, that is one thing that was before my time ;) although those are getting less and less .
