Okay, gang, we're heading into what seems to be one of the most hectic months of the year. So get your exercise plans written up - in ink - and get geared up for a great month ! You'll survive the holidays much better if you take time for yourself and give your body the attention it deserves .

I want to hear from all of you just what your plans are for the holiday season - and I don't mean I want to hear about cookies, eggnog or parties, either !

Hi, Shadow! Since I usually give myself weekends off and most holiday stuff happens on weekends, I don't expect any changes in my routine until after Christmas. The kid and I are both going to be off work, so I'll make it my motherly duty to drag him to the gym with me and try to be a good example.

I'm going to raise the weights this month and back off the reps accordingly. I'm also going to continue to do wall pushups (doorway, actually) daily. The door jambs seem to be the correct width.

What's not to like about eggnog? :jawDrop:

Mitra

In view of my current inability to tolerate uncooked egg yolk, I'll have to skip the eggnog, and I was never very interested in biscuits, so I'll have to find some other displacement activity. I'm sure I'll come up with something.

It's not going to be holiday season here for a while yet. We'll be going to my parents' for a couple of weeks at Christmas, and that's when I'll have to come up with something to keep moving. Until then, it's the usual - make the effort to drag myself into action five days each week.

It's cunning getting us to commit at the weekend. On a day off, it's easy to promise great things... next week.

Sheesh! The holiday season is a time for joyous romping not toil and drudgery.
My plans are quite simple. MWF resistance training- TThS HIIT- and then switching the programs every other week.

Carol- did you trade the Geezer in for a kid??

Carol- did you trade the Geezer in for a kid??Monty, the "kid" is a twenty-five-year-old, fully functional adult with a son of his own. We belong to the same 24/7 gym. We rarely get to work out together because he is a second-shifter. :) He's also been sloughing off lately. ;)

I love it ! But will you be keeping the kid straight or vice versa ?

Awesome! I'll be doing the same thing :D!
I'm also going to continue to do wall pushups (doorway, actually) daily. The door jambs seem to be the correct width.
I think the jambs are the best way - walls can be problematic for the nose/head if you don't have your angle just right :p.

What's not to like about eggnog?
As long as you're minding your sweetener, not a thing ;). 'Course, I never liked booze in mine so you might have to be careful with that :suspicious:.

Nothing new this week, some cardio (not too much, let's say Sun, and Tue), some resistance (Mon, Wed and Fri), and some pilates/callanetics here and there.

Hi everybody another month gone by.

I'm back to my regular schedule of working out.

30 minutes leg work on the pedaling machine.

10 minute upper body cool down on the pedaler.

I haven't accomplished much exercising in the last week. Had some trouble with my neck (two or three times a year I seem to sleep in a funny position somehow that puts my neck out of whack ) and after helping my brother move (with the sore neck) I figured that was enough. My DS will be too busy this week with plays and concerts etc so I will try to head to the gym in the next day or two on my own. Boy I sound whiney tonight. Just in a bit of a funk I guess. Exercise would probably help that.... My goal for tonight is to get more than 5 hours of sleep.

If the cardio parts aren't too long, you can do some "free style" resistance - or even just do your cycling through those parts so you end up with more of an interval workout.

Not much going on today except rain, rain and more rain- a precursor to the snow you folks up north will be getting.
Resistance wo is done and with some stretching that's it for the day. Making a big pot of chili which we will enjoy after the fl-ala game. We are for the gators as DW's sil played for them in the 80's..
Have a good day

Bright and sunny here, but only 27 degrees !! Brrrr.

I just finished my 15 min. dvd using 3 and 5 pound weights with cardio intervals. Feel great, but glad it is done.

Karole - Nice to see some action going on ;)!

Monty - The chili sounds great, especially as we're in the below zero temps right now !

Mikki & Bill - Hope you enjoyed your rest days because now it's time to get busy again !
