Good morning! We're winding down November today. Those of you who weren't around much the last few days, how was your weekend? :) We missed you!

Tomorrow will start Phase Two of the Holiday Journey. No big change, just stay on course.

Breakfast will be a protein shake. Lunch will be sausage and a spinach salad. Dinner will be beef and veggies.

Morning Carol... guess I'm one that hasn't been around much. Thanksgiving was good, stuck to my plan of shakes plus the 1 meal... had turkey, nutty green beans, bit of sweet potato cassarole (sweetened with Splenda) and some pumpkin non-pie (also with Splenda) and NO ROLL. So not bad at all in my book.

Did some decorating this weekend, tree yesterday and got hit with a bad migraine part way through so the afternoon/evening weren't so good foodwise. Ended up with tomato soup and grilled cheese for dinner as that was all that was appealing to my queasy tummy.

Been sticking to things for the most part though... am down 9.5 pounds since Oct 25 so I'm happy.

Having car issues here so we're down to 1 car so I'm having to take the girls and pick them up from school now. We decided to not deal with any of that til after all the holidays.

Hi all,
Lookin' forward to 4 wks of LC WOE with no major temptations (other than a few parties here and there). Speaking of parties, today is the day to interrupt the cocktail every nite with DW routine which I had gotten back into after the end of the 6w. Other than that, no changes from the 25ecc/125prot targets altho some variety of foods is in order.

I'm up 2 pounds from the weekend but should be back down tomorrow to 266 which makes it a great month for me.
The weekend was more carbs while away with various made up meals and some late night snacking. Upping the water and eating normally will fix that in a day or two.

This morning is LC cereal with some Whey Protein.
Lunch will be a large salad at a buffet with some meat and dinner will be something small, before tonights last regular season game.

Good morning! We're winding down November today.

Good morning everbody!

Where did November go? I can't believe this is the last day of the month.

Tomorrow will start Phase Two of the Holiday Journey. No big change, just stay on course.

No big changes here, staying on plan even through the Christmas feast.

Breakfast will be a protein shake. Lunch will be sausage and a spinach salad. Dinner will be beef and veggies.

I notice you often use protein shakes. I also know that you use Isopure zero carb. I'm going to add protein shakes to my meal plans. I recently purchased the chocolate, but found it has a saltiness to it that is hard to get used to. I remember you telling me that you use the vanilla, does it have that same slight salty taste? I'll be using it with unsweetened almond milk.

Hi Becca, Looks like you did a good job in your food choices.

The decorating around here will start this weekend. Most of the decorating is done by my wife, Doy. With me being confined to a wheelchair, I'm afraid I'm not much help. I take on the responsibility of supervising, much to her dismay! ;)

I hope you've recovered from your migraine and tummy issues. Migraines can be so debilitating.

Cars can be such a pain in the ole keister! But they are a necessity and we have to take the bad with the good.

Good morning Mikki, glad you got a good nights sleep. Rest and sleep are an important integral part of any weightloss plan. Not getting enough sleep is a big problem I have.

Hi Monty, good luck with the next four weeks.
Good decision, those cocktails add a lot of unnecessary calories that can disrupt anybody's weightloss plans.

Morning Ottawa, getting back on plan, increasing water and activity levels should take care of that two pound gain. Good luck.

I got a great nights sleep finally. Ah was that divine! You got that right, Mikki. Nothing is as good as a good night's sleep.

Lookin' forward to 4 wks of LC WOE with no major temptations (other than a few parties here and there). That's the attitude, Monty. You'll be fine.

I'm up 2 pounds from the weekend but should be back down tomorrow to 266 which makes it a great month for me.That is so good to hear, Randy! So, now that dodgeball's over, what will you do for activity (besides shoveling snow...:p)
No big changes here, staying on plan even through the Christmas feast. Hold that course, Bill! It's a good one.

Bill, I never noticed a salty taste, but then again, I put my cod liver oil in it too, which adds lemon flavor. I've never tried the chocolate variety. The vanilla goes very well with almond milk. I usually throw in a teaspoon of cinnamon. Sometimes frozen fruit instead of ice or an egg to thicken it up a bit. When I add an egg, I also add nutmeg.

Hi Becca, Looks like you did a good job in your food choices.
Nutty green beans sounds interesting... have a recipe you care to share?

Nutty Green Beans

The Low-Carb Comfort Food Cookbook

Page 224

1 pound fresh green beans
1 tablespoon garlic-flavored olive oil
½ cup coarsely chopped pecans
½ teaspoon finely chopped, dried chipotle pepper*

Trim the tough ends from the beans. In a covered saucepan, cook the beans and pepper in about 1 cup of boiling, salted water until tender crisp – about 10 minutes. Drain. In a skillet, heat the olive oil, then add the pecans, and cook them for 45 seconds, stirring constantly to prevent burning as they toast. Add the drained beans. Heat through, stirring constantly to coat with oil, about 1 to 2 minutes. Serve immediately.

Preparation time: 15 to 20 minutes
Cooking time: 12 to 15 minutes
Serving size 1/6 total yield
Amount per serving 3.8 grams of ECC 2.4 grams of protein

You may substitute ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper and ¼ teaspoon liquid smoke for the chipotle pepper.

We make it with the subsitutions. It has gone over quite well with the extended family.

Thanks for all the kudos on the weight loss and sympathies for the headaches. Thankfully it was gone when I woke up.

Today has been okay... all on plan but very busy.

Breakfast was a shake - water, ice, cream, almond butter and chocolate whey

Snack - LC yogurt (cherry and way too sweet) and almonds

Lunch - wrap (low on protein as hubby had used some of the meat when I had enough left for just 1 sandwich/wrap) and some cheddar on the side to offset the lack of meat

Dinner - 2 cheeseburger patties with a tad of ketchup and mustard and about 1/4 C (if that much) of mashed potatoes.

I am on plan today. That's all that counts, Amy. Focus on the food, not the scale. Nobody should be so busy they can't drop in and say hi! It happens, of course, but it's not fair. :)
