Good morning! I think it's time we review our progress for the week. Are you still navigating toward your personal goals made back in November, or might you want to re-set your compass? Have you been checking your landmarks to measure your progress? Has it been easier or harder than you thought it would be?
We got hit with our first snowstorm last night. It's not looking good out there; lots of school closings. I'd be fine if I had my own 4WD tank, but it's down in Illinois with the Geezer. :jawDrop:
Breakfast will be a protein shake. Lunch will be sausage patties. Dinner will be roast beef and vegetables.
Enjoy your day! :)

Good morning! Still working towards the goals here! I got stuck away from home much later than expected yesterday. I was cranky, miserable and hungry. I abstained from the junk the kids had until we got home and ate something legal and tasty!
Carol hope that snow doesn't get too bad! Be careful!
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everybody.
I'm satisfied with my progress. I've set small daily goals and having to trouble meeting them. I'm a firm believer in setting and meeting smaller goals. If you do it right, those bigger, harder to achieve just fall in place.
I started this morning out with my regular exercise routine. I've found that if I don't get it done first thing in the morning it doesn't get done. How many of you have the same problem?
This evening will be quite festive in our little town of Tyrone. The annual tree lighting, followed by the Christmas parade with Santa making his yearly visit to town. After the parade Santa will be available to all the children for an evening of hot cocoa, cookies, games.
I'm a big peach fan, just love 'em. But the fresh peach season is coming to an end. The fresh peaches I buy are Elberta freestone peaches. Anyone know of a good no sugar added canned peach out there? What brand do you suggest? I'm not into frozen peaches, would rather do without.
Breakfast- 1/2c cottage cheese, 7 breakfast sausage links, 47gms strawberries. 2c green tea.
40gms protein, 9gms carbs
Lunch- Salad, (2c roughly chopped romaine; 1/2 med avocado, cubed; 1/4c cubed cucumber; 1/8c chopped onion; 1 boiled egg, quartered lengthwise; 1 slice crumbled bacon; 5ozs shredded chicken breast; 2T bleu cheese dressing. 2c green tea. 43gms protein, 9gms carbs
Supper- 6oz grilled sirloin pork chop, 10 grilled asparagus spears, 1/2 med grilled peach, 2c green tea.
42gms protein, 8gms carbs.
Everybody have a great and productive low carb day.
Well, today was weigh day. I gave myself a reprieve after Thanksgiving so I wouldn't go into scale-shock an fall even further.
215.5. :jawDrop:
Not good, but it's better than it probably was last week.
Probably didnt help that I had two slices of bread last night at my meal. We were at a restaurant and they were the only carbs I had...but still...duh.
It's 10lbs higher than I like to be...so come ON Amy...get ON it!!
7am brat wrap, 2hb eggs
11am chix roasted with rutabaga/carrot/celery/onion, 1hot dog (not enough protein)
2p cheese on lc toast
6pm dbl burger with cheese
if I don't get it done first thing in the morning it doesn't get done. How many of you have the same problem?
Yes Bill, mornings are easier for me to exercise and get it done. We have'nt had peaches for a few months and I don't know of any unsweetened packaged guys.
So far, no problem hanging in there with the program once I realized that the weight wasn't going to fall off in 3 weeks like it used to do. I'm in for the long haul - 10 # in 11 weeks is acceptable and there are none of fast wt loss symptoms ( mainly no energy and headaches). I don't have that much more to lose :D.
B- 3 eggs, 4 slices of bacon and 4 slices tomato
L - planned on 2 hot dogs but will also have 1/2 shake for the protein
D- 4-5 oz pork chop with veggies

The small success is that I have not gained. Several meals out and a noodle house after the game last night but I am holding my own on the scale.
Tonight we are having guests for dinner and games afterwards. Carbs will be a little higher but I limit them and we have a veggie tray for snacks.

Bill, are you the Santa? Just asking because of your avatar photo.
I got a bit off track last night. Ate a clementine and too many mixed nuts while watching TV with DH. Should have left that jar of nuts in the pantry. Regardless, yesterday's totals came to 1957 calories and 55 net carb.
Today's plan looks a lot like yesterdays:
Breakfast: Quiche casserole, coffee with half and half.
Lunch: Protein shake with added berries, maybe an egg
Snack: Greek yogurt
Dinner: Smoked pork chop with sauerkraut and a lettuce/veg salad
Later: maybe some Lindt 85 or a tiny clementine
My goal this week was to re-establish a routine after Thanksgiving to prevent holiday weight gain. I've done well so far. Today will be my 5th visit to the gym this week and I've been faithful to record my food on FitDay. I'm down about 4 pounds, probably water weight that I put on eating all those Thanksgiving sweet things.
No holiday entertaining or events this weekend to pose an extreme challenge. (That's coming next weekend...) Because it's Friday, my habit would be to open a glass of wine at dinnertime. I'm thinking that's not such a good idea; I'll probably abstain. Seems like one glass often leads to two, and then I lose motivation to keep those carbs in check. Guess it will be diet tonic water for me.
Blessings,
Karen

I'm edging my way toward my goal for December, with my weight now at 210.6 (it was 214 at the beginning of November). I have a blood test to schedule for next week, and a visit to the doc the week after on the 15th. I'm anxious to see if my HDL has risen with the increase in good saturated fats in my diet, without raising my LDL too much. HDL is my last area of improvement (besides a pesky fasting blood sugar level that won't seem to go below 105).

There was a time when I worked out at 6AM, but to do that I went to bed by 9:PM. That all ended when I got married and had a family to care for. Many years later, I'm in an after-work routine that is a solid part of my life.
Probably didnt help that I had two slices of bread last night at my meal. We were at a restaurant and they were the only carbs I had...but still...duh.
Amy, I don't need to tell you this, of course, but others might be surprised to learn that there's often more to bread than just the carbs. Wheat can be habit-forming. I can't cite the places I've read it, but there were several who seemed to agree.

Slow and steady.... That's great progress, Monty!
The small success is that I have not gained. Several meals out and a noodle house after the game last night but I am holding my own on the scale.Good job, Randy! I've never been to a noodle house, but I'll bet they have something PP-friendly.
My DS crawled out of bed after four hours of sleep this morning and DROVE me to work! :jawDrop: After all the years I spent "coaching" him while he drove a car, I just kept quiet and acknowledged that his reflexes and judgement are better than mine. A bitter pill. :p The roads were just awful this morning.
Amy, are you still climbing stairs today? :)

Yeppers, I do know that. Not denying an addiction to wheat :o but the 2 toast last night were being too tired and too hungry and too stressed.
I know, stupid excuses...but they are mine and I'm holding tight!

Yep...no elevator for a month...so stairs for me.
We counted...95 stairs up and 95 stairs down...190 per day IF you don't go down at lunchtime!

Karen, Sorry to say but no I'm not the Santa. They would need a crane to get me from my wheelchair to the float.
