Good morning! My planning ahead is to make sure I get to the store tonight before the weather closes in. We've got a freezer full of meat, but pitifully few vegetable choices. The weather people are predicting at least two days of awful weather; ice tomorrow and a blizzard on Thursday. I'm just grateful for the long beautiful November we had.

Breakfast was a pumpkin shake--the first one I ever made. It needs tweaking. Lunch will be a cheeseburger. Dinner will probably be bacony chicken.

What are you planning today! :)

Morning troops....

Carol send some of that weather down south :) We're expecting nasty rain, wish it was the white stuff. I hate SC winters, never seems like winter to me here.

Today's plans:

Chocolate shake for breakfast (would be interested in the recipe once you've tweaked it on the pumpkin)

Packed for work: cheese, almonds, turkey/roastbeef/bacon wrap ( I need to get to the other store and get more yogurt). not sure what will be eaten (other than the wrap) but probably the cheese.

Afternoon snack? hmmmm either shake or tuna/almonds will see how hungry I'm feeling

Dinner: Meatloaf and green beans, maybe a salad if I'm up to making 5.

And since my tummy is growling now I should get busy and put something in it.....

Happy Tuesday!

Carol send some of that weather down south :) We're expecting nasty rain Hey Bec- make sure it passes us on the md atlantic coast. It snows so little here a 1 incher has things bottled up for days.
Carol, I think Bill has the right idea- too bad you can't do the same.
The protein soared yesterday with the added beef and the ecc = 19.
More of the same today.
B= shake and 2 eggs
L= cheeseburger
D= TBD

Good Morning,

All of you who will be caught in the bad weather have my sympathy. It is predicted to go north of St. Louis, and I'm pleased.

My list of shopping and errands is long today, so I'm skipping the trip to the gym. I'm pretty sure that's a case of misplaced priorities, but it is what it is.

Ate a bit more yesterday than I had planned. Around 1900 calories and 55 net carbs. So today my goal is to stick to the plan.

B'fast: chocolate caramel shake with added egg
Lunch: fast food salad, cheeseburger with no bun
Snack: Greek yogurt and berries
Dinner: Lentil sausage stew (recipe is Galeen's from the recipe section. Yum.) with a spinach salad.
Later: sf pudding

Blessings,
Karen

Breakfast was a pumpkin shake--the first one I ever made. It needs tweaking.

I use pumpkin in my shakes a lot. I buy the large can of pumpkin and then freeze it in 1/2 C portions in Zip-Loc snack bags.

My basic shake recipe is 1C milk substitute*, 1/2 C pumpkin puree', lots of cinnamon (or pumpkin pie spice), one packet artificial sweetener and 1 or 2 scoops of vanilla protein powder. Sometimes, I add an egg instead of the second scoop of protein. It helps to use an immersion blender to get the pumpkin to really mix in well.

*Speaking of shakes, there's a new product in the milk section of the grocery store called SO Delicious Coconut Milk Beverage. The unsweetened variety has only 1 carb per cup. (Unfortunately, it costs almost $5 for a half gallon.) I've found it makes a perfect mixer for shakes. If you see it, I would recommend trying it.

Karen,
I, too, buy a big can of pumpkin and freeze in 1/2 cup portions. I put the portions in paper or aluminum foil cups, then in the ziplock bag.

I, too, add whey protein powder to my hood lc milk along with the spices you mentioned. Never have tried splenda.
Sounds good, might try it.

Good snowday activities. Good plan, Bill. I don't get snow days off any more; poor use of taxpayer money. :tear:

If I had enough trucks, Becca, I'd oblige you! Excellent food plan for today, BTW!

Carol blizzard expected her to. 10+ inches our direction.
Okay, yours looks worse, but we'll get "lake effect" on top of it.

Here at work early, busy day ahead.
Sleeting here, cold. Crazy drivers.I have a son in Austin, Claudette. Are you north or south of there?

Carol, pumpkin shakes are great. I add pumpkin pie spice to mine along with the hood low carb milk.
I looked for my pumpkin pie spice, but I must be out. I put in some others, but my ratio was off. That will be on my shopping list! I'm going to the store tonight, too!

Carol, I think Bill has the right idea- too bad you can't do the same.Kinda makes me want to retire early, Monty. I'm not liking driving on snow and ice any more. I'll get used to it again, though. :D

Shhh! Shadow glides through here once in a while! You wouldn't want her to hear you say that! :paranoid:

Wonderful idea, Karen! That would save watering the shake down with ice. I love it!

This is such a great place to be. I like it when y'all keep me busy! :D

Well I just did up a fairly long post and the cyber monsters ate it...

I didn't get called to work today, YEA! It's just too cold right now. Our trucks aren't really winterized as we don't usually pour in this type of weather. And I don't really have appropriate gear for me either for the same reason. I'm amazed at how exhausting working in these conditions is, and it's not really that cold! Yesterday was -10 in the morning but warmed up to +2 by mid afternoon. The trucks and plant freeze up pretty solidly in anything under about -3 or -4 though. I used to work in northern Ontario where the winters are REALLY cold, but there we were prepared for it, as much as you can be anyway.

Pumpkin shakes, love em. I use 200ml (6oz) unsweetened almond breeze, 1/4 cup pumpkin, 2 scoops protein powder, and a couple of tbsp of coconut milk for creaminess. I sweeten with Da Vinci SF Pumpkin Pie Spice flavour and what really kicks it up a notch is adding freshly grated nutmeg and cinnamon. It takes a little more effort to grate the spices yourself but what a difference in taste. :) I mix it all then pour over ice to cool it.

Today I am going to get some shopping done and stock up a bit as the forecast if for snow possibly on Fri. I will take a cue from Bill and Carol and be prepared.

Breakfast was the usual and I might roast something for dinner and leftovers.

I hear those cyber monsters are restless today, Jilly. Are you getting the same nasty storm system that's coming up through the Great Lakes? You're making me shiver with that kind of talk! :p

Under 30 carbs yesterday and met my Protein target. Had my semi final last night in Dodgeball and will moss the last game due to an eye surgery next Monday (something I have wanted for a few years).

Today: Caf-Lib for breakfast and a hamburger patty for lunch. Not very hungry but feeling great. Dinner will be Dreamfield's maccoroni casserole.
Tonight is 4 hours of gift wrapping at a charity event.

I am on the west coast of BC so this is our own system. :p Pretty cold for this time of year around here.

I want to attempt to put a picture of our Christmas truck in here, but computers are not my forte so can someone here tell me how to put up a picture from my desktop.

I only know how to get one off the internet. If no one here knows how, we'll have to ask Mitra or Gaelen if it can be done.
