Good morning! :D What makes you laugh today?

I'm counting the closings and hoping I can wait until daylight to drive to work. We have fifteen main sending schools in the district and seven of them are already closed because of the weather. If I don't get a phone call, I'll just warm the car up and head out.

Breakfast will be a pumpkin shake (got the right spices last night). Lunch will be a spinach salad with chicken. Dinner may be more chicken with vegetables unless I get a better offer!

Have a great day, y'all! :)

Carol be safe if you have to go. I'll cross my fingers you can hide out at home! Pretty much every school in WI seems to be closed according to the long long list. Hubby drives semi for ups. They called off work. We have thigh high drifts when I let the poor dogs out.

Carol glad you perfected the spices!

What makes me laugh?

Lots of stuff but the first thing every morning is my littlest dog Dex.Before MIL got him for me (after my 130 lb rott/doberman mix passed away) I swore I didn't like little dogs. I really didn't want him but sure did learn to adore the little fur ball. First thing I start waking up every morning that crazy little dog gets out from under the blanket and right in my face wiggling all over and trying to lick me to death with his tail going 90 miles an hour. Poor little guy is one of those so ugly he is cute dogs. LOL But first thing every morning I am laughing at him.

Have a great day everyone!

Carol be safe if you have to go. I'll cross my fingers you can hide out at home! Thanks, Michelle! I ended up with a two-hour delay today, which means daylight for the drive. It actually was no problem--just wet pavement along the lakeshore. Inland, it's already very bad. Ours is coming this afternoon, I hear.

Absolutely, Amy! It works! Thanks for the cartoon. How is the weather in your neck of the woods? You usually have bragging rights!

My breakfast turned into eggs & cheddar, plus two mega cups of coffee. Lunch will just be some lunchmeat to tide me over and I'll save the spinach salad for dinner tonight.

I was an hour late getting into work this morning (http://rstorage.filemobile.com/storage/1673740/233)and we have another 20 centimeters by tomorrow morning. The gift wrapping last night was slow as well and we had 2 customers in 4 hours. I was on track the whole day but accepted some Christmas Cake during the shift which would have put me over my carb target.

Today:
4 eggs, 2 LC toast, Caf-Lib

I'm not really what you'd call a morning person.... But what makes me laugh in the mornings right now is the cat we are looking after for B&SIL. Cats are such silly creatures! I love em. Otherwise the best part of the morning for me is usually when I'm leaving the plant with my first load and as I come around the first corner heading into town I can see the vast expanse of the coastal mountains with the sun coming up behind them. Not a laughing thing, just breathtaking. :)

Another day off work, after my whining about too much work I'll soon be complaining about having no work. The forecast is for a chance of flurries mixed with rain anytime over the next several days. Our biggest problem here with this type of weather is if it stays as cold as its been we will have serious ice issues. We get that heavy wet snow and if its followed by a temp drop.....deadly.

Today will be my ever usual B, don't know about lunch but I will cook that roast, that I didn't do yesterday, for dinner.

Stay safe and warm everyone.

Jilly

Wednesday 12/9/09

Wow! Woke up early this morning to find lots of snow. It looks so beautiful when its undisturbed by the footprints of little ones, or the shovels of those needing to be out and about to whereever it is they need to be.

I had a great workout this morning.

30 minutes leg work on the pedaling machine.
15 minute warmup on the pedaler for the upper body.
1 set 15 reps of bicep curls, tricep extensions, front deltoid raises, side deltoid raises, wrist curls, bench press and butterflies using ten pounds.
10 minute upper body cool down on the pedaler.

I'm still sticking to my 7 day meal plan rotation. Like the old adage goes: 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it!'

Breakfast- Cheesy Spinach Omelet(1T olive oil; 1/8 onion, diced; 1 clove garlic, minced; 1c/21gms spinach; 2 slices turkey bacon(I use Esskay's), diced; 4 eggs, beaten; 1oz cream cheese, small dice, 2c green tea. 40gms protein, 6gms carbs.

Lunch- 6oz grilled chicken; 1c steamed buttered broccoli, 2c green tea.
45gms protein, 7gms carbs.

Supper- Baked orange-roughy fillet; 1/2c wax beans; 1/2 med peach, 2c green tea.
42gms protein, 9gms carbs.

Everybody have a good day and to those who received a lot of snow or ice be careful.

Well, my family is in Des Moines.
They have 12 inches and terrible blowing.

We got maybe 7 inches and the blowing will start this afternoon.

We're sending it your way though Carol...are you guys under blizzard warnings yet?

Back2me, aren't you in Wisconsin? You should be getting hit right now?

The toons posted by Ammy and Randy and the humor of the others.
Way late today. Had a little mishap which will put me out of business for a few days-twisted a knee that I injured 40 yearas ago- never got it fixed.:o
I'm on track eating wise but I have to take another page out of Bill's book, ie set up a weekly menu and repeat it. It so obviously works and takes all the guess work out of each day.
Having said that I don't know what I'm going to have for D.:D
B- shake
L- 2 eggs, sausage in a LC pita

Hi All,

Thanks for the comics. A little laughter is good on a cold day.

I don't laugh much early in the morning. Maybe that is a problem I should work on...
But what makes me smile is when I look out the back of the house and see wildlife on the golf course behind us. There's a lake back there and I often see deer, red tailed hawks, and great blue herons. I'm also happy when I see birds at my feeders. You can move a farm girl to the city, but she's still a country girl at heart.

Late checking in today, but I'm doing great. Yesterday's totals were 1800 calories and 48 net carb. A little higher than I'd like, but not a disaster.

Today's plan:
B'fast: coffee, creamer, shake with frozen berries & an egg
Lunch: chocolate caramel shake (2 scoops protein)
Snack: 1 square Lindt 85, 1/2 C Greek yogurt, 2oz fresh blackberries
Dinner: Casserole (Dreamfields pasta, alfredo sauce, hamburger, a few veggies thrown in), green beans.
Later: Chai tea, cream, Splenda

I've run into way too many temptations today and I've been able to say "no thanks" every time.:) Now, I'm glad to be safely back home where there are fewer things to lead me astray.

Enjoy your evening!
Karen

We're sending it your way though Carol...are you guys under blizzard warnings yet? You'd better work on your pitching arm Amy. We've been under a blizzard warning since one o'clock this afternoon and--nothing but wind. Temp is just now dipping below freezing. I know it's a legitimate storm, but the hype started a bit early, even for our news stations. They've been commenting on threatening skies and wet pavement ALL DAY!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Had a little mishap which will put me out of business for a few days-twisted a knee that I injured 40 yearas ago- never got it fixed.:oOw! Take it easy, Monty.

Another day off work, after my whining about too much work I'll soon be complaining about having no work. :rolleyes:There is a downside, I suppose. Oh....you mean money to pay the bills? :D
