Good morning! Are you drinking? :) Hydration is helpful for lots of reasons. Your kidneys will love you for it.

I could have called this day Thankful Thursday, because I can stay home and work on a couple of projects that have been nagging at me. Our "blizzard" finally got started overnight. Not much snow yet, but what's there is covering a layer of ice that is keeping all the schools closed. Sadly, I'm way too awake to go back to bed, so I will head off to grind the coffee beans. (I've already had a huge glass of water!)

Brunch will be eggs and perhaps bacon. Later in the day I will make some venison chili and get mine out before I add the beans. I'll have a snack of ricotta and berries with cinnamon and ground walnuts in the evening.

Celebrate your day by eating well!

Enjoy your day at home Carol!!!!!:)

Everyone have a terrific day!:D

Morning all,

Carol Getting enough water is never a problem for me. I have a 26oz thermal cup that my wife always makes sure is full. I average close to a gallon of water daily.

BTW that venison chili sounds so good. My brother got his allowed two deer for the season I'm expecting a delivery of 25 pounds of ground meat from him anytime now.
Michelle do you keep track of your blood sugar levels? One of the symptoms of high blood sugar is unquenchable thirst.

Some light Stretching before breakfast is in order for today. This is also Toni's day to do her magic on me. This afternoon she'll be putting me through intensive stretching manuevers(which I might add can be a bit uncomfortable at times) followed by deep tissue massage.

A good friend and neighbor gave me a set of three resistance bands of varying strengths, along with an instruction book and dvd. I've never used bands before so I'll be reading the book and watching the dvd.

Breakfast- 2 whole eggs, 4 whites, 2 Esskay's turkey bacon, 70gms blackberries, 2c green tea.
40gms protein, 8gms carbs.

Lunch- 2 roast beef rollups; 4ozs deli roast beef, 2ozs deli swiss cheese, 2 red leaf lettuce leafs, 1T chipotle mayonnaise, 1 med peach(3-1/2ozs), 2c green tea
42gms protein, 9gms carbs.

Supper- 5oz grilled burger; 1oz cheddar cheese; tomato, onion & basil salad, (1 med(5.2ozs) tomato, 1/4c onion, 1T fresh chopped basil); olive oil & taragon vinegar dressing, 2c green tea
42gms protein, 8gms carbs.

Everybody have a good day.

Morning all...

I haven't been drinking quite enough this week (even came home Tuesday with my 64oz jug about half full :( ). So after reading the inital posts I went and got myself a glass of water before replying.

Had a bit of a tumble yesterday, small one that I didn't let escalate. That's one of my problem areas is falling into the "I've already blown it today so why bother, restart tomorrow" trap. I had 1 PBJ in the afternoon (fell victim to both the H and T aspects of HALT) but only 1 (not the 2 or 3 I tended to have over the summer) and then kept it simple with sausage and eggs for dinner (instead of the grilled cheese/tomato soup I had been thinking about shortly after the PBJ).

Today's plan: shake for breakfast, cheese for snack, wrap for lunch, tuna/almonds for snack, italian chicken for dinner.

Yep Bill I sure do. I have always been thirsty even as a kid. I grew up in the dessert so I wonder if that isn't what got it started. Enjoy the massage!

Becca great job not letting it become " I've blown it so..........." !!!!!!

Michelle, how's your weather? I know our snow hit you guys before it hit Carol's neck'o' the woods.

Our snow is done falling. We only got about 7 inches...but Des Moines got over a foot. I'm so jealous!! My xxski's are ready to go!!!!

Stayed on plan yesterday. I'm still off schedule (meals happen at odd times) but I'm eating what I said. That's a start.

7am brat wrap, 2hb eggs, 2 cuties (very tiny clementines - equal about 1/2 orange)
11:30am brisket, veggies, fruit (lunch offered by work)
4pm lc lasagna, green beans or lettuce (have to look, counts are about the same)
7pm 2oz nuts

Good morning all.
I am under almost every day on my fluids. The reminder helps so Thursday s are good.;)

We had about a foot of snow yesterday and I made up a "snow tree" and strung lights on it last night. Tonight is Dodgeball and today is 2 pre-op sessions for corrective eye surgery on Monday. All is well.

Good! There's so much you can do with bands, Bill. The internet also has lots of demonstrations. The important thing is posture, in my book.

Good for you, Amy! I've got enough snow for XC now, but I don't dare twist my knees. :p

Good morning all.

How can I make this work all during the week? Floating Fridays? Wet Wednesdays? Help me with Monday!

Monsoon Mondays? Too much like a weather problem?

Tippsy Tuesdays??

I think I will have a slightly different breakfast today . I'm going to do up some deviled eggs with smoked lox! Lunch ?? Dinner will be leftover roast and salad.

Snow hasn't started here yet but it looks like it will. The sky a solid grey and that "its going to snow" smell in the air.

It's sunny and cold in St. Louis, and we have no snow. I am NOT JEALOUS of all your snow. No one here knows how to drive in it.

After helping DH with a computer problem this morning, I headed to Gold's Gym with my weight lifting chart in hand. I walked in and saw that "Julie and Julia" was playing in the cardio theatre. So I canned the idea of lifting weights and hit the machines. Because it was early in the film, I managed to do 40 minutes on a stationary bike and then switched to a treadmill and did 45 minutes on it. Usually I'm not one for long sessions at a moderate pace but I was really enjoying the show.

Yesterday's totals: 1615 calories, 42 net carb.

Today's plan:
B'fast: 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, coffee, half & half
Lunch: shake with added pumpkin
Snack: Greek yogurt, berries
Dinner: DH gets the leftovers from last night, so I think I'll just make myself a large Chef's salad.
Later: maybe a little decaf' coffee and a square of Lindt 85.

Stay warm and safe. Have a great day.

Ammy we are below zero and got a foot of snow. Our yard has thigh high drifts. Poor dogs! Darn WI

Randy I bet that is very pretty!

Monty don't you want -30????

Jilly Deviled eggs and lox! Interesting combo!

Karen sounds like you had a great workout!

I have to say I have some of the most thoughtful clients! I had a few gifts today and 1 in particular that was so sweet. She got me an excellent bottle of Door County Wine (it is a WI think :)) and a huge can of mixed fancy nuts. I get so much candy I can't eat and this client is so thoughtful to be sure to bring a healthy treat! Isn't that sweet?!
