Good morning! :) Two weeks until Christmas! Have you become more confident with all your mental and physical preparation these last few weeks? My plan is to not give the holiday goodies any power to tempt me away from my usual eating habits. That leaves me free to enjoy the festivities with a clear mind and avoid the ones that will mess me up.
Back to work for me today. Sniff. I'll be driving very carefully this morning. The birthday gift I'll need tonight showed up yesterday in the blizzard. Kudos to UPS! Probably dinner at a restaurant tonight and I'll probably have a steak and vegetables.
Breakfast will be a shake. Lunch will be chicken.
Have a happy, productive Friday!

Good morning! :)
I'm currently fighting sweet demons like you wouldn't believe! So nope I'm not feeling more confident at the moment. I really overate the nuts last night in an attempt to stay out of the homemade candies dh and ds made and were eating last night.
Menu ~ breakfast~ eggs, lunch ~ chicken and asparagus ~ dinner?????
Carol have a very safe drive!
Have a great day everyone!

Same here. It is a mountain of goodies time and I'll just pick my battles.
I head out to Toronto at lunch, come back for the surgery on Monday and have a week off. I asked for 2X zoom, and X-ray vision but it is not available yet, so I will settle 20/20. ;-)
Breakfast: A bit of LC cereal with Whey Protein.
We're having "treats" (pastries and muffins) brought in for the final day of "no elevator" at work. I will do my best to stay on my side of the office...which is the farthest space from the kitchen.
:jawDrop:
I won't have any. I've already decided.
7am brat wrap, 2hb eggs
11am lc lasagna, 4 celery stalks
3pm iced coffee, 2 clemetines
5pm dbl burger with cheese and mayo on lc toast
may add 1oz peanuts (counts include the nuts)
Pro: 132.5
Ecc: 29.5
fat: 116.4
Cal: 1791

Friday 12/11/09
Morning everybody.
I really don't have to worry about the cookies and candies of the Christmas season. Doy goes to my daughters and they do the baking and candy making there. None of it is brought to our home.
Not much on today's agenda. Main objective stay warm!! Brr!
I didn't do my regular exercise today. Instead I experimented around with the resistance bands. I like them better than the dumbbells, more versatile.
Breakfast- 1/2c cottage cheese, 7 breakfast sausage links, 47gms strawberries. 2c green tea.
40gms protein, 9gms carbs
Lunch- Salad, (2c roughly chopped romaine; 1/2 med avocado, cubed; 1/4c cubed cucumber; 1/8c chopped onion; 1 boiled egg, quartered lengthwise; 1 slice crumbled bacon; 5ozs shredded chicken breast; 2T bleu cheese dressing. 2c green tea. 43gms protein, 9gms carbs
Supper- 6oz grilled sirloin pork chop, 10 grilled asparagus spears, 1/2 med grilled peach, 2c green tea.
42gms protein, 8gms carbs.
Have a good day and stay warm!
Cold here too. 27- unusual for this area and my bones do not appreciate it.
Holiday goodies are DW's downfall. I haven't been tempted by sweets for many years mainly because I do not digest any sugar well. Lucky in that respect.:) This brings up a question about splenda in protein powder. I recently unknowingly bought some that has splenda in it. Lo and behold, for the past 3 days, I am experiencing mild IBS and gerd for the first time since Sept. Prior to this week, all the protein powder has been unflavored or used stevia. I will buy some unflavored today to test this out.
All daily #'s are in a close range- ecc 20-30 and prot=120-170.
Today B- 3 eggs, 2 sausage links and 4 tomato slices
L- lc tort wrap with roast beast and lettuce
D- DW said she will make something- this is not at all routine.
Stay warm

The baking teacher just dropped off a big plate of goodies. :jawDrop: It's on my desk; something I didn't count on. I was too flabbergasted to say no thanks! :peeved: My guys at home would like it... If it starts talking to me, it goes to the break room. So far, so good.
I'm having a stressful day. Budget meeting that might last for a couple more hours and filling in for a co-worker to finish a project with a deadline of 4:00 today. Yeeks! My lunch turned into a handful of almonds.
Bill, I'm glad you like the resistance bands!
Amy, I'm with ya, kid!
Randy and Michelle, hang in there!

Having my sugar free chocolate available seems to save me from eating all of DH's sweets that he keeps around, plus the extra ones for Christmas from his mom. I'm not sure how I would fair if I couldn't replace regular sweet stuff with sugar free variations. I have been considering trying to cut out all sweet stuff for a bit to see if I can overcome my sweet tooth but I fear it would be pretty ugly....:jawDrop: I don't like being dependent on SF foods, which border on frankenfood really... But that is an issue for January, survival without bingeing is the main concern for December.
The snow is still threatening, but not quite materializing...
Usual foods today but dinner is at Mom's for my nieces B-day. Mom has decided to make...lasagne :( So I'm bringing chicken for DS and I to have with the caesar salad. I shouldn't have a problem passing up cake, I'll have chocolate when I get home.
Have a great TGIF.
Jilly
I have eaten no "goodies" (or badies) and still have no desire to.
Today, they are not for me.

Okay, the budget is not accomplished yet, but the 4:00 deadline project is. I can go home now. I'm exhausted. A stop at the gym will rescue me from an early bedtime. :) Once I get there, I'll perk up.

Good Afternoon.
As I read the posts, I'm inspired by those of you who can look the demons in the eye (so to speak) and resist.
Yesterday was good (1630 cal, 31 net carb), and I've made a plan for today, although it's kind of a weak one.
Today's plan:
B'fast: coffee, half & half, 2 eggs, 3 slices bacon
Lunch: shake with pumpkin added, 1 square Lindt 85
Snack: Think Thin bar
Dinner: a Christmas party. I plan to make the best possible choices from the food available. No idea what it will be. I will allow myself two glasses of wine and then switch to a calorie-free beverage. I do not plan to eat dessert.
Because we have another party tomorrow evening, I absolutely can't give in to temptation at this one or I'm in danger of a "what the heck... I've already blown it" attitude which could last until Sunday evening.
Knowing that accountability keeps me on track, I will report (or confess) to you all in the morning.
Thanks so much,
Karen

Good! We'll be waiting to hear your report! :)
