Good morning! A full day of planning today for tomorrow's family party. I'm going to cook a turkey breast in a way that isn't going to turn out dry. Not sure how quite yet.

I might even finish up my Christmas shopping! :D Nah, I was just joshing you.

What's up with you this weekend?

Carol- you are either up very early or very late.
Weather is what is up here today. All around us is snow and lots of it to the south, north and west less than 20 miles away but we are in a pocket where it is just rain and wind. For that I am grateful.
The food plan is slipping a bit because of bread (always my downfall) however, I have maintained a less than 40 ecc carb intake. Thank God I don't eat sugar.

Hi, Monty! It was a case of "up very late", I'm afraid. It's okay, because I slept in and still got my 8 hours. :)

Busy with Christmas today. Looks like everyone else might be, too! I had a stray thought of going to the gym this afternoon.:lol::lol:

Bill, are you still grilling outside? Your menu looks good!

I took pity on my sister, who was organizing the kid gifts for tomorrow's party and now they're at my house to wrap. She can't say no, so she is swamped in obligations. I have my schedule in hand (so far) :paranoid:.

I'm feeling peaceful, even though I have two important gifts to buy yet. Must be the lack of sugar. I agree with Monty there, too!

Carol yep I grill outside year round. We have a covered patio and I use a wood pellet grill capable of smoking, grilling and slow roasting.

I shopped all morning. Now we're heading to the ballet. GF's brother got her tickets to the Minnesota Ballet perferoming Nutcracker. I've never been to the ballet...?? I don't think I'm a ballet fan, but the music will be good.

Started my day with a south beach bar. Then went to a breakfast buffet and had ONLY protein! Very proud of myself. For lunch I had beef brats and 2 lc slices of bread.

so that means so far I've had 19ecc. Not sure what to do about supper. I'm not hungry yet, but need to eat so I don't get hungry during the opera.

I've never been to the ballet...?? I don't think I'm a ballet fan, but the music will be good. You'll enjoy it. Just think about how physically fit the dancers are! I'm with you--the music is good.

Not sure what to do about supper. I'm not hungry yet, but need to eat so I don't get hungry during the opera.I think that would be a good idea, Amy. Plan ahead, then have a Plan B! ;)

I'm heading out for groceries, hoping the crowds are diminished somewhat. It sounds like everybody in three towns was shopping today!

We sure are. Probably about 5 or 6" on the ground with a forecast of 8 to 10" by Sunday afternoon.

Bill, I hope your pain diminishes soon, enjoy viewing the winter wonderland.

Amy, I hope you enjoyed the ballet. Like Carol says they are amazing to watch for their physical abilities if nothing else.

Carol I hope shopping wasn't a complete scrum.

Friday night I took our Christmas truck to a party a friend of mine was having, it was a pretty grand entrance. If I ever get photobucket working to post a pic of the truck here I will. When I try to post it here I get a box with an X in it (like when photos won't show in an e-mail). Anyway it was a hoot showing up in it. (40 ft long concrete mixer covered in Christmas lights!)

Yesterday I spent some time at my brothers painting again and today after the gym we finished the painting and put up some new light fixtures. It was interesting put up lights overhead after doing a workout. At least I got an extra shoulder set in!

Food has been pretty good except for a bit of a meat binge last night. At least it was meat. I ate an extremely large serving of Korean Bulgogi beef. Mega Yum. Tonight will be ham and a nice Argentinian Syrah.

Don't know what will happen with dinner tomorrow night, we are going to DH's gandmother's memorial with dinner after at his aunt and uncle's house. I'm sure there'll be something I can have.

Take care everyone,

Jilly

I hope it passes quickly, Bill.

Carol I hope shopping wasn't a complete scrum.Everything worked out except the butcher was closed by the time I got there. Instead of the fresh, no-growth-hormone-no-antibiotic turkey breast I planned, I ended up with a frozen solid chemical-infused version from Walmart. :p
Anyway it was a hoot showing up in it. (40 ft long concrete mixer covered in Christmas lights!)Oh, I'd love to see it, Jilly!

I had eggs and coffee for breakfast this morning. Turkey and a few veggies at the party, plus a serving of cheese potatoes. That's always been a tough one for me. So far, dinner has been almonds and jello with cream. That's probably it for today. I'm too tired to be hungry.

I enjoyed the ballet when they were dancing the "story" but when it was just people dancing I didn't care as much for it.
After the ballet we went to a bar and had a lc beer and buffalo wings. That was my plan b and I stuck to it. I really really wanted carby foods, but didn't do it. I stuck to my plan!
