First and foremost, Merry Christmas (or Happy Christmas for Mitra and NW ;) ) to all :D!!!!!
Yes, there is a holiday this week but you'll feel better - mentally AND physically - if you keep on moving it and don't just sit like a slug and stuff your face . Just something to remember to keep the old holiday spirit an upbeat one :sly wink:.
I certainly expect to hear from everyone this week! I'm not saying you have to be here every day, but I DO want to hear from each and every one:
Carol
Karole
Amy
Adina
Mitra
Needlewoman
Bill
Monty (Good luck with that surgeon!)
Mikki (are you feeling better????)
Claudette
Jilly
Martha (and Buddy, of course!)

My current sticking point isn't food, it's TIME! It was my fond hope to get a little gym in this weekend, but I seem to be booked solid. I'll get at least two, maybe three this week.

I just got in my 15 min. dvd workout with weights so thought I would report in before I forget about it....like I would forget. (I might "forget" to exercise...but not to report it! I need to many gold stars to do that.
Will try to get in a bit more after while as I didn't do anything yesterday. We had company over for the most part of the day or were otherwise busy. Take care all.

This is definitely a good week to do a "time crunch" workout version if you have a social life ! The important thing, though, is to get in as many as you can rather than not even trying to do any. So I will be very pleased to have 3 days from you :D! I suppose I can accept 2 but 3 would be better !

Hi everybody.
No exercise or stretching today. Every little movement is painful. I'm hoping to get back into it tomorrow.
Have a good day.

Well I'm already getting sore so todays workout must have been a good one!
I substituted pushups (I know I should be doing them more often anyway) for chest presses and shouldn't have any new bruises. After the gym more painting at my brother's house was done followed by installing several light fixtures overhead, so another shoulder workout. We will go to the gym again on Wednesday, meanwhile rest and stretch.
Keep moving everyone,

My current sticking point isn't food, it's TIME! I'll get at least two, maybe three this week.
So my plan is add Tues Thurs and Sat long sessions, (hopefully a long ride Saturday,) to my normal routine.
I know this isn't the challenge section but you said it sister. I keep saying yes. I know that I need to "pay myself first," in so many ways, but I find that I honor those other commitments much more readily than that promised workout. Maybe identification of the point counts for something. But not for moving and shaking, I am pretty sure of that one.

Hi, Shadow,
Trying hard to incorporate daily exercise into my life.
Monday: 15 minute hike up hills, etc. It's cold here for Texas, 30 degrees, got me moving !
Will do Callanetics tape tonight for abds/waist.

Oh my - if it's hit already, it must've been killer !
I substituted pushups (I know I should be doing them more often anyway) for chest presses and shouldn't have any new bruises.
That's always something good to aim for !
After the gym more painting at my brother's house was done followed by installing several light fixtures overhead, so another shoulder workout.
It really isn't any wonder there are so many people with shoulder injuries the way the poor things get worked so often!
We will go to the gym again on Wednesday, meanwhile rest and stretch.
Sounds great :D!

That would be great, Martha, but I think right now maybe aiming for your "normal routine" would be good, too ;).
I know this isn't the challenge section but you said it sister.
No worries, Martha - you can keep the choir singing "hallelujah" anytime ! Besides, this really is a challenge section - just for exercise. So you go, girl :D!
I know that I need to "pay myself first," in so many ways, but I find that I honor those other commitments much more readily than that promised workout. Maybe identification of the point counts for something.
Well, it's a start but perhaps not the biggest step ;). The biggest step will be actually doing something proactive to change it :).

Hi, Shadow,
Trying hard to incorporate daily exercise into my life.
I am sure you are, Claudette :D! You may not be a frequent poster, but I know you've been doing that exercise pretty consistently over the years .
Monday: 15 minute hike up hills, etc. It's cold here for Texas, 30 degrees, got me moving !
There are some advantages to winter weather :p!
Will do Callanetics tape tonight for abds/waist.
Good for you :D!
Nothing yesterday (got caught up in Season 1 of Mad Men) but today I took the stairs. I hope to get on the bike tonight as well.
I started packing last night, and I included workout clothes for inside dvd's and outside walking. My sister and I plan on getting in exercise every day while we're together.

Very good! Now you just have to actually utilize them :p!
My sister and I plan on getting in exercise every day while we're together.
I expect a full report :D! BTW - when are you going and when will you be back :suspicious:?
did not get on the bike.
I went for my physical yesterday and she diagnosed me with shingles, so I had to run around and pick up bandaids, prescriptions, calamine lotion, etc.
But, I did take the stairs down the parking ramp (5th floor) and up to my office (5th floor).
I HOPE to leave tomorrow noon and come back Sunday. My bro has wifi, so I'll be around. This is assuming the ice storm going through Iowa doesn't cancel our Christmas.
OK lady Shadow, I'm back kinda.
The ortho went well and the knee can be fixed with arthro if needed. A cortisone shot fixed the twinges altho it also gave me a reaction- flushing and sleeplessness. Felt like a naicin reaction. Clearing up now tho. My excuses for Shadow are coming to an end. :D
No exercise yesterday but a good resistance one this pm before lunch. Knee felt good enough to do a few 1/2 squats. I'll try a short HIIT tomorrow.

Ammy hope you get relief soon and it doesn't flair up to bad. Shingles can be quite painful.
I'm still having a difficult time with neuropathy. Its quite severe at times. I've deciding to put off any exercise activity except for some stretching until I get some relief. Its just to painful and appears to be aggravated right now by physical activity. I'm not quiting just postponing for a little while.

Hi! I went to gym last night and had a medium workout, but I was too busy to be on the computer much after I got home. Tonight may be the same, so I'm here to say I have my gym bag at my feet and I'm about to change clothes and head to the gym. Lower body tonight, but a little less weight than usual. I'm trying for four days in a row since Christmas things will take up the rest of the week.

Hi, y'all,
Tuesday, was a 30 minute walk total, 15 minutes each.
I have decided to get some exercise in no matter what each day, even if I have to break it up into "chunks".
Tonight, I plan a walk right after work, Callanetics for abd/waist tape.
Got in a half effort of HIIT on the ellipt followed by a slow warmdown on the bike. The held up fine altho it is a bit stiff right now. I wont try again until SAT.
Resistance tomorrow with UB and just calves, no quads.
Not too exciting but enough to show Shadow a little commitment :)

Hi, no exercise to report for yesterday. Had to go to town for last min. stuff and groceries and then we were invited over for dinner and games at a friends house so it was run run run all day.
I did 22 min. on the elliptical this morning and have a bunch of housework lined up for the rest of the day . See you all later.

Made it to the gym today with my sister. I must admit I had to drag myself in, but felt better coming out. I made us work a bit harder on the lower body today, our last workout seemed heavy on the top and not enough on the legs. I let you know how much trouble I have sitting down tomorrow. I will have to work out on my own over the hols, DS goes away from the 25th to 1st. I will have more time then though, less work maybe and no driving the Christmas truck around at night.

I "done" it yesterday, Shadow! I've been careful not to overdo the weights. I don't see an opportunity for the next couple of days, but I got three sessions in this week. I also did a lot of walking (for me) yesterday. The weather is in my bones today, for sure.

Going to try to do cardio in the form of walking/hiking as many days as I can a week.

Good morning Dear Shadow and to all of your other cubbies who would dare venture into your lair today.
I have to report some exercise over the last few days such as moderate elliptical wo, and 2 resistance type wo. These were not done out of the fear of your wrath:eek: but because of disgust with my sluggishness and overeating for the last few days. I know you will take any exercise from your faithful for any reason , positive or negative.:D
Have a wonderful day.
I walked the dog on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th. I think I walked twice a day...hm, not exactly sure, but think I did.
I know we walked 1 mile (on ice and in 5inches of snow) and one of the walks may have been two hours.
Also, played a lot of Wii bowling, baseball and tennis (switching arms, so I could get an upper body workout).
Friday I did Wii yoga and balance games. I really liked those.
Saturday we did Wii "Biggest Loser" cardio workout. I dont' think I worked out very hard as my brother was doing it too and he is very large and so we were doing a very "mild" version of the workout, but I was atleast moving!
