The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.
Stephen R. Covey
Good morning! What are your priorities? Is taking care of yourself high on the list? If you take care of yourself, everything else seems to be manageable.

Breakfast/brunch today will be bacon, eggs and coffee with cream. Lunch will be a corned beef wrap

Hi, I know I have been missing for a while but have had my son and family in for the past week and --well you know how it is.

We have all been off our pp woe and feel horrible. Even my dh who doesn't do real low carb but does eat the foods I do-- (He just always has added bread and eaten other things he wanted all along---well he told me yesterday he is going low carb with me because he has seen how carbs affect the way he feels. We both have experience some carbage overload effects and feel icky.

I haven't weighed yet so don't know what the toll was weight wise--just know how cruddy I am feeling. I'm sure after I weigh in tomorrow morning I will feel really cruddy mentally too !! My own fault.

Anyway, I am with the challenge for January and want to add in exercise at least 4 x a week and report supplement intake as well as that seems to be a very hard thing for me to do lately. I have skipped a lot of the supplements I know I need to be taking and so that will be in the challenge too.

I'll check in later, bye for now--

Well I certainly feel much better than yesterday, although my back is really sore from all the laying around.

Today will be doing some house cleaning, hopefully go outside for at least a few minutes and tackle some issues in my pantry. I've been meaning for quite awhile to clear some things out (carbage) and I think now is a good time. They don't really tempt me too much, but they're taking up space and just going stale anyway. We took a platter of cheese, salmon and pickles etc up to our friends place on New Years eve so I threw on some crackers for them but to my embarrassment they were stale. :o:lol: Unopened packages but they had just been in the cupboard too long. I also have some stuff that would be ok still (pasta, canned corn and such) that I will give to the local food bank.

Yesterday: fat- 76g, carb- 17g, prot- 115g, cal- 1275

A little low in calories, I wasn't feeling well enough to eat much, and although I don't really count them its right there on the fitday screen so I keep a bit of an eye on it. I've been stuck within the same few pounds range for a couple of months now so I may have to lower the cals a bit just to get the weight shifting again. I shouldn't need as much food now that I'm lighter, I just have to train myself to eat less. Unfortunately I'm not one of those people who found myself not hungry on LC eating. Which is not to say I'm starving like I used to be when trying to follow a low fat diet, nothing like that, but I didn't find my appetite disappeared like some people do. I'm rambling a bit now, must need to eat.

I don't have today planned beyond breakfast, I'll report back later with some numbers.

Sorry you're feeling horrible, Karole; sometimes we need a gentle reminder about why we live low-carb in the first place, don't we? ;) Sure glad you had all the family around you! I'm tickled that your DH has also seen the difference. Wish mine would!

Well I certainly feel much better than yesterday, although my back is really sore from all the laying around. Glad you're better, Jilly! I noticed that crackers go stale around here, too. I don't monitor that stuff because I don't eat it. Sometimes when I notice the same package for months on end I will toss it just on principle. :p

I do the same thing, Monty. :D

What I'm doing for myself today is getting prepped to really begin eating well. My husband and I went to the grocery store today, my first trip since September. I used a motorized cart--kind of embarrassing, but I knew I couldn't walk the whole store using a walker.

When we got home, I made chili, so now I have an LC supper. I'll have it over lettuce with some sour cream and shredded cheddar. Then tonight, I plan to make a lemon cheesecake. I wanted to do pumpkin (as well as pumpkin sausage soup), but all of the pumpkin has disappeared from the grocery shelves.

Has anyone worked with coconut flour? I saw it in some LC YouTube videos I was watching. I don't remember seeing it in recipes before--I used to use almond flour, soy flour, and oat flour. I saw a recipe for cheese biscuits that looked yummy.

I've eaten well so far today. Breakfast was sausage links and cottage cheese. Lunch was some cubed up meat and cheese. I had a handful of cashews a bit ago, and now I'm looking forward to chili. Life's good.

Jilly, I need to get rid of carbage in my cupboard as well. Now that I'm weightbearing again, I should be able to do some cupboard cleaning.

Good for you, Randy!

I got out to the gym tonight. That makes three times this week, and I never imagined I'd do it with no work schedule to force me. I overworked my knees a little, so I put some biofreeze on them. It's my favorite liniment. Now to find some dinner!

I never realized just how many different kinds of crackers were hanging around in my pantry. :o Seems kind of wasteful but we'll never eat them, me because of LC'ing and DH just isn't a cracker eater. They've gone stale anyway so I tossed the whole lot of them. (ritz, breton's, stone wheat thins, triscuits, carr's water crackers, vegetable thins and more...... crazy!) Tomorrow I'll sort through the rices and pastas. :crybaby:

Made peanut soup for an appy, flank steak for dinner and tried making zucchini fritters. I think I made them too thick. Totals for today:

Cal: 1400 (keeping it low for a couple more days then back to 1800 ish)
Fat: 101g
Ecc: 21g
Prot: 96g

Great quote, Carol. My priority these past two days has been to make some food plans as I've been eating "whatever" these past couple of weeks. Picked a mess a greens and cooked them with lots of bacon. That will do me for about three days. Also picked a bunch of lettuce and various salad greens. Made a large batch of chili to do me for several days and a turkey casserole. So at least I have no excuse not to eat correctly!

Saturday's counts were not good: 100 ECC and 55 protein.
Today's so far are 55 ECC and 70 protein. Since I plan to behave myself, I'll probably end the day at 70 ECC and 90 protein. At least I'm moving in the right direction.

Also did a bunch of outside work, so got some good exercise (and a very cold drippy nose). Have a great evening, folks.

We have the same weather, Monty. Actually the sky opened yesterday and we had blue sky and fluffy white clouds. Very uncommon during winter along the lakeshore. Very cheerful!

My priority these past two days has been to make some food plans as I've been eating "whatever" these past couple of weeks. That's a good start, BC. I find bacon wonderfully satisfying when I haven't had it for a while.

I had a burger with mushrooms and cheese for lunch. Lindt and almonds for a snack. Chicken/sausage casserole ready to eat right now. See you all tomorrow, bright and early! :)

That time again already! Well it will be a very different start to the year for you than 2009 was. It's satisfying to look back and realize how far we've come. A lot of us started part way through the year, imagine where we'll be at the start of 2011! :D My ultimate goal is to be a long time maintainer of course, many people here to look up to and learn from in that respect.

Had a good trip to the gym and brunch with my sister today. I love the looks I get when I tell the waitress I want no toast or potatoes with my ham, cheese and mushroom omelet, but I want a side of hollandaise sauce. :p Dinner was peanut soup again, caesar salad and chicken cutlets.

Cal: 1400
Fat: 99g
Ecc: 20g
Prot: 78g

A bit lower on protein than usual for me, but still makes my minimum. Had a couple of yummy, fatty treats today.

Hi Jilly, yep weigh-in time again. I often think of where I was at before June of last year.
And I'm telling you I don't want to be there again.

I don't go out to eat often. But when I do, its generally for breakfast. We have a great truck stop not far from here. They serve a fantastic breakfast. I usually opt for the western omelet with a side of Canadian bacon.
