You can’t talk your way out of what you’ve behaved yourself into.
Stephen R. Covey
I tend to want to make excuses for my poor food choices. Unfortunately, no-one really buys it!
Back to work today. :) It will be nice to have a schedule again. I’ve got several lunches in the freezer for the week and my gym bag is packed.
Breakfast will be a strawberry protein shake. Lunch will be chicken/sausage casserole. Beef tips for dinner.
Are you off to a good start this month? Working on it? ;)

Good morning--GREAT quotation, Carol.
Breakfast was cottage cheese and sausage links.
Lunch will be a protein shake.
Midafternoon I plan a veggie/ranch dip snack.
Chili for supper.
Should be a great day!
Ruth
I am ready to be back on plan. I'm ready to fit into all my clothes again!!
I came into work this weekend and after 2hrs I got the blue screen of death. I'm typing this on my itouch as I await IT who were suppose to be here 30 min ago.
Meals are planned and packed and lc. I plan to ride the recumbent bike tonight and maybe some pilates or weightlifting. I won't go overboard but feel the desire to be physical.
Carol. I LOVE the quote!!!
Back on the plan and have lost 1# of the 3 gained- I'll change the lo tech ticker when all 3 are gone.
Yesterday results: ECC= 22 Protein= 134
Todays plan: ECC 25 prot= 125
DW insisted I post a picture and caught me by surprise. I don't who that OF is tho.

Great quote Carol. Because it is so true.
I am feeling better now, my stomach is behaving better and I have more energy . Last week was partly a bummer as most of us were sick with cough, colds, and some stomach virus. Not great when you have company in and want to have fun with them. But I feel sooooo much better today----see what good eating will do for you !!!
It is really cold here --like it is most every where else, a bit of snow and a lot of area schools are out of session--mainly due to our rural road conditions. I am ready for Spring.
Hope your computer problems are taken care of shortly Ammy...bummer.
I had started out on my elliptical for some cardio when I got a phone call so only did 8 min. and 2 flights of stairs so far. I better go do some other stuff. See you all later.

I have dropped 3 of my holiday pounds and will drop the other 3 this week.
It is amazing how quickly those carbs along with some excess add up.
Breakfast was 2 protein muffins and a simple shake. I'll have a shake and a sausage for lunch.

Hiya!
Lookin' good, Ruth!
Amy, that sounds like a great plan. (I go nuts if I have to wait for tech support!)
Gorgeous avatar, Monty! :D
Keep moving, Karole. I don't think Shadow knocks off points for phone calls. ;) Glad you're feeling better. Must be the diet!
Yes, Randy, it's appalling how fast we put it back on. You'll have it gone in no time--I know you.
I just came to the realization that I might have an ear infection! :peeved: I've got an appointment with the doc this afternoon. That's not all bad, because I want to ask him for some thyroid tests and I'd rather do it face-to-face.

Ouchie on that quote! But oh so true (otherwise it wouldn't be an ouchie!). I'm on track so far today: hot chocolate protein shake for brekkie, and I'm enjoying a bowl of chili and greens for lunch (2 separate bowls). Will round off lunch with an apple. Then supper -- probably the turkey casserole I made Saturday, but it isn't really calling to me. If not that, then a cheese, bacon, veggie omellete (or however you spell that).
Hope your ear infection clears up fast, Carol.

Bummer Carol. Hopefully getting to the doc will nip it in the bud quick. I feel for ya, I'm coming down with some sort of throat thing. It started yesterday, I tried to ignore it but it's worse today. :( Naturally I'm getting sick now, DH and I are going away for a couple of days on Wednesday to stay at a nice resort and spa about 3 hours from here.
I do have to leave the house (no work today, pouring rain), sick or not, I have to get my passport renewal application in. I should have done it a month ago, but it should arrive in time for our trip in March.
I'm not sure what will happen with food today, I'm not very interested in swallowing. It may be a tea and soup day.

So, far so good!
I got on the scale this morning!
Really good reason to be back here.:o
Food is well planned:

1 cup of coffee
Lunch: hamburger patty and some broccoli
dinner: thawing out some ground turkey - so it will be something made with that
snack: cheese ball with some celery and beef stick
For once a plan!

Monday 1/4/10
Carol, I like todays quote. I'd bet that it relates to the majority of us here at LCH at one time or another.
Its a chilly day in PA with about 4 to 5" of snow on the ground and they're calling for more.
This morning was my weigh-in. I dropped 4 pounds. Not bad considering it was another month with a holiday which is notorious for overeating.
Weight: 284
B/P: 130/80
B/S: 90
More stretching today before breakfast.
Breakfast-2 whole eggs, 4 whites, 3 Esskay turkey bacon, 70gms blackberries, 2c green tea
43gms protein, 11gms carbs.
Lunch- 5oz grilled burger, 1oz cheddar cheese, freezer slaw, 2c green tea.
42gms protein, 6gms carbs.
Supper- 6oz Cajun spiced orange-roughy fillet; tomato basil salad (1 med(5.2oz) tomato, 1/8c chopped onion, 4 thinly sliced basil leaves) dressed w/evoo & taragon vinegar; 1/2 med grilled peach(canned), 2c green tea
40gms protein, 8gms carbs.
Amy, that sounds like a great plan. (I go nuts if I have to wait for tech support!)
I only had to wait because, although I was told they'd be here by 8, they were running late!
They are in the office next to mine, so I tyically only have to wait as long as it takes for me to walk out of my door and into theirs ;)!
I'm up and running. And I'm running fast and smooth...ahhhh the breaking in of a new computer is F-U-N!!
I have a terrible headache today. Not sure if it's food related, or stress, or the last reminents of the shingles, or some/all of the above.
All I know is the Tylenol is not working as fast as I'd like it to be!
Time for my snack, then head to the doctor for the physical I tried to have last week. I will set up my cholesterol check for Friday. I'd love to wait until FEb as my eating has been so poor, but this will be a good test as to how my body reacts when I eat carbs willy-nilly like I have been.
I'll report my final counts later tonight.
It's so good reading about people dropping pounds...a good reminder that I TOO can drop pounds if I stick to the plan.
When I saw the 22x on the scale I wanted to cry...course it didn't stop me from eating carbs, but I wanted to cry.

I'm correcting my meal plan. I had planned on eating the foods listed. But today was weigh-in day along with labs...fasting labs. So in truth I had no breakfast.

Amy -- I'm in a similar boat with you -- perhaps even the same boat. I was doing so well and for months my weight stayed within 2-3 lbs. of my goal. Then I got cocky (not saying you did - just me). I felt invincible and for a few weeks it seemed I was. I didn't gain weight and my blood sugar was stable. Then came a cold which knocked my blood sugars out of whack and then the Christmas season which upped my already high carbs. Two weeks and eight pounds later.... :(
But I'm back on the straight and narrow -- almost. Messed up today and my carbs are high, but I'm getting there.
Protein: 74, ECC 86 (just couldn't resist the last of the white chocolate covered pecans). Well, I could have but chose not to.
Have a good evening, folks.

Great quote, Carol, so very true, especially of me.
I have been sick since New Year's Eve with a relapse of asthma, now astmatic acute bronchitis.
Went to the physician today for antibiotics,
other meds to help me get over it . Per MD orders, I will go back to work on Wednesday.
I have missed you all, our ISP has been out of order, so no web since New Year's Eve. Good to be back.
Have been on track, but today, I have had too many carbs, but plan to be back on track tomarrow.
Hang in there all, we can do this.

Bill, I guess that's the difference between central PA and southcentral PA--we only had flurries.
I hate ear infections--they make you feel like garbage! Not that asthmatic bronchitis is any fun, Claudette. Hope you both feel better soon.
I went over a little--had a couple of last minute additions that added up quicker than I realized (a few Munchies and a couple tablespoons of rice).
I plan to have some no-bake lemon cheesecake in a bit, which will bring me to 65 grams of carbs and 125 grams of protein. Protein's fine--need to watch the carb creep tomorrow. It still feels good having a measure of control.
I ordered the "Sit and Be Fit" exercise video, so that should help me rebuild muscle strength after being recliner-bound for 14 weeks. It's amazing how quickly it deteriorates. I'm still only 50% weightbearing, so I think sitting to exercise is probably the ticket right now.

Hey, you folks got busy while I was waiting for DS to get off my computer. He's usually not in conflict with my schedule, but he had the day off. :peeved:
My affliction is actually an infected salivary gland :suspicious: and I'm on an antibiotic for a few days. Never heard of that one! The best part is I got the lab order for the thyroid tests I wanted. No arguments.
Jilly, Amy and Claudette, I hope you get well quickly!
Everyone sounds so positive today! I'm smilin'!

Hi all, it does sound like we are motivated to get at it again doesn't it Carol.
I had 102 protein 37 carbs and 1884 calories so all is well on that front. I probably need to cut some of the calories if I am to lose any of the weight I put on. I am only going to weigh in once a week so it will be next Monday before I have anything to report on that front.
Ate as planned today except supper. I decided to have leftovers since I got home so late.
Leftovers was turkey casserole. I used turkey, mushrooms, and cream of mush soup on the botton, then a lc biscuit mix on top. So in essence it was a turkey pot pie.
exercised today
now I'm going to bed
