When people keep telling you that you can't do a thing, you kind of like to try it.

Do you have a little bit of rebel in you? When I look at the Standard American Diet and the food pyramid, I know that Protein Power is better for me.
Have you any humor to share today? :)
Breakfast will be a protein shake. Lunch will be chicken/sausage casserole. Dinner will be a cheeseburger patty with mushrooms and a salad.

I think the Standard American Diet could be a source of humor in itself if it didn't have such a negative impact on health overall. We are a truly schizophrenic society. A friend remarked to me that every single talk show has focused on diet this week; yet, we are obsessed with fast food, convenience food, and every healthy-sounding craze. Guess that doesn't fit the theme of Wacky Wednesday except to point out how wacky we Americans are...
My day today--
Breakfast--sausage, cottage cheese
Lunch--coconut yogurt
Midafternoon--protein shake
Supper--chili
Have a great day!

Oh yes (as I raise my hand) I am certainly a rebel. Used to be more so, but still a rebel at heart. I cringe everytime I see a "healthy" eating plan put about. I can't understand how the medical establishment could still be promoting low fat, high carb in the light of the increasing health issues (especially diabetes).
Don't have any wacky I can think of, but if I do I'll be back to post it.
Plan for today is hot LC cereal for brekkie, small steak, salad and broccoli for lunch (it's a feastday for me today), an apple and cheese for late afternoon snack and my final "holiday dose" of eggnog for a liquid late supper along with the last of the dark chocolate I received for Christmas. Should come in around my goal of 75 both protein and ECC.
Have a great day, everyone.
This is for YOU Shadow!!!

Okay...auditors were here for 9hrs yesterday so it was a long day.
They're not here today but left me with a long list of items I still need to gather or fill out.
8am brat wrap with brat and hotdog inside, 1hb egg (forgot eggs at home)
11:30am ground beef with mayo/mustard, green beans
5pm burger (no bun) with side salad
8pm 2oz salami, 1oz cheese
I have my final board meeting tonight so I'm not sure if I'll have time to workout or not...we'll see.

Not really that whacky or funny, but a good message!!!
I consider myself a rebel and I feel anybody doing low carb is a bit of a rebel. 'Going against recommended protocol for weight loss!!'
Old man winter sure is showing his face around here a lot lately!! A couple of inches of fresh snow on the ground, temps in the low 20's and hard wind driving that wind chill down around zero!! Brrr!! Where did I put my insulated long johns???
I started my day out with some good stretching before I had breakfast.

40gms protein, 6gms carbs.
Lunch- 6oz grilled chicken; 1c steamed buttered broccoli, 2c green tea.

Great to see you all this morning.
Down to pre Chritmas season weight and working on the remainder. ;-)
Breakfast: Tangerine and premade shake
Snack: second shake
Costco has the Premier Nutrition shakes (30 protein 2 ECC) on sale at 18 for $22.
For those south of the border it must be a few dollars less.
Today is wacky for all the wierd things going on (all because I pigged out for yesterday lunch, so I say.) 1)a smoke alarm went off at 4 am followed by a second one 15 minutes later- I replaced both with new backups I keep on hand but they are still chirping every 30 minutes or so. 2) computer glitch which may finally be straigntened out. 3) the heated bird bath froze 4) the mailbox lock froze 5) something got into the bird feeders and wiped them out - also broke one (probably a raccoon- hope he's freezing his ass off). Other than that, a quiet, uneventful day so far :D
B= shake and egg
L= roasted turkey rollups (romaine), colby jack cheese and celery sticks
D= chicken wings and small salad
Going very light on the carbs to make up for yesterday's Lunch (our favorite sandwich spot had a rare roast beef, provolone, tomato and horseradish mayo/mustard stuffed into a half a loaf of warm ciabatta- delicious).

A PP friend called me at lunch, wondering why he was hungry this time around. He re-started on Saturday and has lost 8 pounds already. I told him it was probably his body wondering what had happened to it. Then it dawned on me that I'm probably hungry today for the same reason. Since I'm still recuperating at home, I'm trying to deal with the refrigerator in the kitchen (which is not carb-friendly because of my husband). I remembered that usually when I'm cooking, it takes my mind off eating. So I adapted my plan and decided to make coconut macaroon muffins (Stella recipe). I had two of them for lunch, and that did the trick. Feeling good. . .

Well done Randy!
Am I a rebel.... Well I've spent my entire life working and playing in very male dominated fields so that either makes me a bit of a rebel, or just a really commited tomboy. :p
Still not feeling great but heading off for our "weekend" away anyway. I'll take a few snack things with me, eggs, sausage etc and just do the best I can in restaurants. Plan to go to a seafood place or steak house tomorrow night, that should make it easy.
"See" you all Friday,
Jilly

Grrr. I wrote a post earlier and it got lost in the netherworld I guess. I must have goofed somewhere or other. Anyway I am not going to repeat myself (can't remember what I was ramblin' on about anyway)
Loved the jokes and I know Shadow will love the one of the person on the couch (wonder if she'll think of me??)
Brrr. It is cold here but not as bad as Minnesota. But we are having a tad of snow this evening. Hopefully not the 1 to 3 inches they predict.

We're going to get a couple of inches, but the largest lake-effect looks like it will go south of us. We're hovering around freezing--a heat wave this time of year!
Crazy busy day, but I'm safe at home and have had a chance to kick back for a while. I'm feeling a lot better since Monday and had a good workout tonight.

Hi, ya'll,
Back at work today but at a much slower pace.
Great cartoons.
I am a bit of rebel, couldn't have survived in healthcare all these years if I hadn't been.
Poor doctors, I don't believe they get alot of nutrition education in all their years of schooling, so they depend of the dieticians to direct, educate people. And we know how off base the standard registered dieticians recommendations are.
Menu:
b-eggs, bacon, hood milk, tea
L-leftover shrimp, dreamfield's pasta in veggie sauce, sf jello choc mousse
S-clementines x 2.
D-turkey, 1/2 cup dressing, tsp cranberry sauce, green beans, large bite of roll w/ smear butter. (take out from cafeteria from DH).
Hugs,
Claudette
