Motivation is a fire from within. If someone else tries to light that fire under you, chances are it will burn very briefly.
Stephen R. Covey
Good morning! How is your motivation today? Burning brightly? Don’t let anyone or anything dampen it!
Breakfast will be a strawberry shake. Lunch will be sausage patties. Dinner will be beef tips and vegetables. Snack will be almonds and Lindt 85%.
Have a great day! :)

Great quote again this morning, Carol. Where on earth are you finding these? Today is supposed to be nice again, so will work in the yard, plus finish up a large order of Prayer Beads. Need to think about cleaning house as well. Food plan is LC cereal for brekkie, Italian sausage on LC wrap and salad for lunch, and supper is not yet planned. An apple or half Cara Cara orange along with a couple of squares of dark chocolate will fill out the day. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Good morning, Carol and BC-
Motivation is key, and as much as I wish you could sustain it coming from elsewhere (for those time when our own wanes), it has to come from within. Great quote!
Today should be a bit easier than yesterday, which was fairly busy. I'm just at home today and hopefully getting some cooking done.
The plan--
B-leftover coconut pancakes and sausage links
L-pizza on LC tortilla
D-pumpkin soup and hamburger pattie
S-coconut muffin or yogurt, raw veggies with dip
Have a wonderful day!

I went to Urgent Care last night and got some muscle relaxers. Life sure is GOOoooooooodddd now.
Just kidding!
Just some Flexeril which I take whenever I have muscle problems, but when I take it I seem to be in slow-mo. My brain processes run a step or two behind and I am very tired!
But, work needs to be done, so I'm at work.
8am lc goulash
11:30am lc goulash, lettuce wedge (no dressing)
3pm 2oz cheese
6pm dbl burger with mayo and mustard, salad
very similar meals, but its what I have on hand so that's what I'll eat.
I'll check back later!
Very motivated today.

B= shake with 2 tbsp cottage cheese and strawberries
S= probably an egg
L= burger patty and spinach salad

I seem to be following you around this morning Monty !!
I am soooo bummed out--- I was supposed to weigh myself today but got up to the sound of the phone ringing and then went right into fixing breakfast and ate before I realized my boo boo. Now I will have to wait til tomorrow as there is no way I am going to weigh coffee and breakfast along with the rest of me.---I know you all know what I mean !
I love the quote too, Carol , and firmly believe it. I know I can't just buckle down and get to it just because someone (like a doc or etc. ) says I need too. I have to believe it deep down to be able to jump in wholeheartedly .
That was what I loved about reading PPLP -- it just had so many facts and made so much sense, who could resist. I had tried Atkins earlier but it seemed to me it was like --do it because I say so, rather than really explaining the ins and outs of things.
Well I'm off to do other stuff, like sewing. I've already swept, mopped and did two loads of laundry and other sundry things --as well as my resistance workout so it is time for a break. Check with you all later.

Motivation is burning brightly. :)
Lots to be thankful for and on the right track. My work has been overloaded and this week I will be underutilized which works out great.
I had a competative workout on the Wii yesterday with friends for a few hours trying various fitness games on Wii Fit and then did a bit of treadmill later. THe team is registered foir Dodgeball and we should end in the top 3 on Rec League.
This morning has been a shake, some pork ribs and a protein cookie.

That about sums up my sentiments, too, Karole. :)

Good afternoon all!
Talk about motivation... I had my weekly weigh in this morning and i'm down 2.8 lbs!!! Even with eating some carbs last week, its still working. I called that my taper week and now i'm sliding right into some good eatin!
B: 3 eggs, 4 pcs bacon & 1 slice swiss in a low carb tortilla
L: 1 large chicken breast with mesquite seasoning
S: 2 hb eggs
D: hmmm... not sure yet.
S: strawberries w/ cream?
I cooked up a storm yesterday so that I'd be prepared this week... I made the PP Crustless Quiche for quick breakfasts/snacks, cooked a bunch of chicken breasts for lunches and hardboiled many eggs. I want to try a deviled egg recipe, but i keep chickening out. i don't know why... its a food i've just discovered i like, so maybe i'm worried i'll go to all that trouble and then decide i don't actually like it? meh.
My sister is also doing low carb (I think she does an atkins type version), so we text each other throughout the day when we are struggling or have had a little victory. Very helpful!
Thanks for sharing what you all are doing... its very encouraging!

Monday 1/11/10
I'd say motivation is at an all time high. Everything is clicking. My weight is coming off slow and steady just as I was hoping. I'm honestly not putting a lot of effort into it. It is just coming together.
Today was a good day. I met all my goals except the exercise goal but not by my own choice. Hopefully I'll be able to restart soon.
Sure is getting chilly here in Central Pennsylvania. Lots of snow on the ground and more on the way.
I'm starting to make some changes in my food plan. I'm bringing protein shakes to the table and going more for the easier recipes.
Meals for today:
Breakfast- vanilla-cinnamon protein shake, 2c green tea.
50gms protein, 2gms carbs
Lunch- 5oz grilled burger, 1oz cheddar cheese, LC pita bread, 2c green tea.
42gms protein, 6gms carbs.
Supper- 6oz boiled orange-roughy fillet; tomato basil salad (1 med(5.2oz) tomato, 1/8c chopped onion, 4 thinly sliced basil leaves) dressed w/evoo & taragon vinegar; 1/2 med grilled canned peach, 2c green tea
40gms protein, 8gms carbs.
