Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome.

You don’t have to convince family and friends. You don’t have to be able to be able to quote all the details. You don’t have to be an expert before you begin this way of eating. Just start where you are and learn as you go. What have you learned this month?
Well, today I’ll have a protein shake for breakfast and I’ll try to remember my lunch this time. Dinner will be a burger and a salad.
Have a good Thursday, and remember hydration! :)
I am QUEEN of objections. There is ALWAYS a reason why something won't work :o.
Weird...I never felt that way about PP...HM......I just told myself it HAD to work, and voila! It did!!
Back is MUCH better. Still a twinge here and there, but overall I'm moving just fine. and funny...weight is dropping...could they be related??
8am brat wrap, 2hb eggs
12 lc goulash, green beans
6pm dbl burger, lettuce salad
Just do it is a really good slogan when it comes to LC and exercise. Tough to keep all negative self talk at bay.
Had a wonderful steak (filet) last night that somehow tasted better because others fixed it.
#'s yesterday ecc=28 prot= 132 Sounds like a broken record.
I'm not a big beer drinker and haven't had but a few (can't remember really) since Sept. Last night I ordered a favorite lite beer and took a few sips. It just didn't taste all that good :crybaby:(chemicals, sugar??) I just don't know. The cabernet was just fine, however.
Warmer today :)

I'm great at objections, too, but like Amy, I didn't resist PP at all. Now getting re-started--that's kind of a different story. It's not hard once you're back into it; however, making the decision to start is too easy to put off (which is why I'm facing re-losing this weight).
Today will be like yesterday:
B--yogurt, coconut muffin
L--pumpkin soup
D--Mexican lasagna
S--protein shake
Plenty of schoolwork to do today, so I need to get to it.
Nice drop on the scale, Amy. Carol, enjoy your lunch!

I have learned that "Patience is a virtue", that "Time speeds up for no man" and "a pound is just a pound" but this morning's pound is one I have been waiting for. ;-)
I am back on the weight loss train and will have to update my ticker later. From the end of November I had actually gained with much of the partying/socials/seasonal treats, and it took a while to catch up.
Water is on my desk, the Wii Fit instructor character (exists only in the tv/Wii:) not real life) asked me to set a new weight goal. I try and get it in 5 times/week and it has become a source of encouragement in workouts and the dreaded "weigh-in" since the fiirst thing it displays after the primary step on Wii Fit board is that my character is "Obese".
I am working hard at becomming "Overweight". :D:eek::D
I have 2 hours of Dodgeball this evening and eating is on track. Loads of protein.

Back is MUCH better. Still a twinge here and there, but overall I'm moving just fine. and funny...weight is dropping...could they be related?? :rolleyes:Glad it's improving, Amy. Sometimes a change in daily habit is enough to shake up a body and shake off a few pounds. I've noticed it myself!
Last night I ordered a favorite lite beer and took a few sips. It just didn't taste all that good :crybaby:(chemicals, sugar??) I just don't know. Hmmmm. I think that's possible, Monty.

Yes, I always say the first step is the hardest, Ruth. Glad you made that decision! BTW, I remembered to bring my lunch today!
A little stretching before breakfast. Not much going on today.Have a nice, quiet, uneventful day, Bill
I am back on the weight loss train and will have to update my ticker later. Good job, Randy!

I hate to admit it but I'm a bit stumped on what I have learned this month....:o
OK I reread your post Carole and perhaps its not something I learned this month but I have confirmed even more that leading by example is usually the only way you can get other people to learn. I haven't preached to my family about low carb, just gone about getting healthier, fitter and lighter, and now my sister and my brother and sister in law are also low carbing. My Mom has been showing more interest and asking more questions too. I'd really like her to give it a go, she's type ll diabetic, high cholesterol (which I know doesn't matter much, but her doctor has her all worried about) and serious diarrhea issues (grain possibly?). My copies of Dangerous Grains and The Great Cholesterol Con arrived yesterday, after I read them I'm loaning them to Mom.
I am finally rid of the holiday gain and down below where I was in mid December. :)
I haven't managed to cut the splenda out completely but am down to about 1/4 of my usual, and no cream. I'm pretty happy with that.
Yesterday: 115g protein, 30g ecc
Today will be eggs and smokies, not sure about lunch but I am baking a ham later for dinner and leftovers.
If it doesn't stop raining here soon I'm going to lose my mind. :(

Not sure if any of you have Jewel or Cub Foods stores, but they stopped selling Dreamfields for awhile...
it's back.

hey all!
Today's menu is (hopefully) what yesterdays was supposed to be:
B- quiche and coffee
L- pork chop and hb eggs
D- meatloaf a la Tom
last night i had a pork chop for dinner and then ate some (ok, a lot) of my coconut bliss ice "cream". It is sweetened with agave and is pretty low carb for ice cream. Other than a few oz of veggies in the quiche, my carbs were nonexistant yesterday, so another drop on the scale this morning!
I am battling the temptation to come up with every reason why I CAN'T do things right now... it is a battle, but I think I'm winning. Pressing on!

High There!
After Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and a 4-day January trip to Las Vegas, I have much damage to undo. It is back to basics at our house. Back on FitDay, too. Seems I eat less when I track all my food.
Yesterday's totals: 1920 calories, 41 net carb. (I'm aiming to go lower than that today.)
Todays plan:
B'fast: ham, spinach & egg quiche casserole, coffee & cream
Lunch: chocolate shake with frozen berries.
Snack: string cheese, 1 piece chocolate.
Dinner: roasted chicken leg & thigh, salad, steamed vegetables.
Later: decaf' coffee with cream
Water, water, water. (Thanks for the hydration reminder!)
Hope you're all having a great day.
Karen

Hello all! It's been a good week and I am now off work until Tuesday - what a great feeling!! I'm only a couple of weeks into this so I still have so much to learn. So far my biggest revelation is that there is hope. I can do this and I don't have to be miserable every step of the way. This is the first time I have felt hopeful about getting this weight off in a very long time. :crybaby:
B - Protein Shake
L - Chicken & Egg Salad
D - Sausage & String Cheese
S - Cottage Cheese
Tomorrow since I will have extra time I plan to look through recipes and plan some yummy meals! Tomorrow is also my weekly weigh in so I'm hoping for a good number - wish me luck! And good luck to each and everyone of you!!

Have done well today,
break-3 sausage patties
snack-protein shake
lunch-chili
dinner-bacon cheeseburger minus the bun
What I have learned is, to stay on this woe, quit wondering around to other diets and binge eating. I feel so much better when I eat this way, don't know why I ever stop.
