Go back a little to leap further.
John Clarke
Some of us have to make sure we’re not mistaken by visiting our former neighborhood. We forget how miserable we were. We come back with new purpose!
Have a great Friday!
Breakfast will be a shake, lunch will be pork sausage and dinner will be determined after a trip to the butcher.:)

Re-gaining weight certainly helps us remember how miserable we were! I can't wait to get back to my lower weight! That's motivation for me right now.
I started the day off with a protein shake. I'm going to school today to help with an assembly. I haven't seen the kids since I fell back in September, so I'm really looking forward to it. The kids don't know I'm coming, so it'll be a surprise. Then I have some fine arts festival work to do.
Lunch (whenever I get home) will be pizza on an LC wrap and supper will be Mexican lasagna. I need to take something with me to hold me over until I get home because I don't want to be tempted to stop for fast food.
Have a great day, everyone!

I've just started back on PP, after drifting through a few other diets--the Zone, one of those famous portion control through the crappy little meals they send you advertised on TV, and a couple of other ones. PP was the only one that really ever worked for me--I lost 60 lbs back in 1999. The slow regain, through lack of fidelity, has put me about 45 lbs heavier again--with 15 lbs of that horrible number that I has said never again too. Back to basics this week--have dropped 5 lbs already! Yay!
B=eggs and sausage
L=burger on LC wrap, small salad
S= small protein shake
D= chicken, mushrooms, peas ?
Yesterday numbers Ecc= 29 Prot= 122
Gonna be in the 40's today- gotta get out and smell the roses

I am miserable at my current weight. Right now I sit at my desk at work in my too tight pants and cannot wait to get home and put my comfy sweatpants on. I'm so excited about this situation improving a little bit every day. I am happy to report that I lost 1.5" off of my waist this week and another 2.5lbs are gone. Yeah for me!!
B - Coffee, 2 eggs, 2 sausage links
L - Chicken & Egg salad
D - Adobo chicken is in the crockpot (new recipe I am trying)
S - undecided for now
Have a great day!
Michelle
I hear you Michelle! My pants are fine, but all my shirts seem so tight???? Could it be my weight is up 11lbs and it all is in my upper torso??? Hmmm????
Weight is coming off, slowly but surely. Another .5lb today. I'll take it!
8am brat wrap, 2hb eggs
12p lc goulash, green beans
5p dbl burger with cheese/mayo/mustard
8p peanuts? cheese? nothing? (we'll see)

Happy Friday to all of you.
Dittos to all the comments on how miserable it is to gain weight. But I'm down a couple pounds and feel better already. Nice to look down and see the bones in my ankles, which had been a little puffy from carb-induced water retention.
We have a plan that we know is effective. We're making progress. We have every reason to hope for a better tomorrow.:)
Yesterday's totals: 1827 calories, 32 net carb. I'd really like to get the calories closer to 1700, but I'm still happy with yesterday. I also made a trip to the grocery store so we'll have lots of variety in the menus for the coming days.
Today's plan:
B'fast: 2 coffee + half and half, crustless quiche with ham, spinach, egg & cheese.
Lunch: pumpkin shake
Snack: Greek-style yogurt, berries
Dinner: Beef stroganoff on Dreamfields pasta, steamed cauliflower.
Later: herbal tea, a little chocolate
Nice to see the new faces on the board. Stick with it!

I know I couldn't wait to get back to my low carb ways this Jan. We had family in for a week after Christmas and I was really really bad , plus from Thanksgiving to Christmas I was sort of not being aware of carbage. Not really awful, but over the top a lot of times.
But that week after Christmas...ugh... as I said I was longing for the good healthy stuff again and for that bloated, stuffed uncomfortable feeling to go away. Why does a person do that to themselves. I can be my own worst enemy I fear.
But things are good now, I'm dropping some weight and feeling great again. Wonder when next Thanksgiving rolls around will I smarten up???

Good morning all!
I have to say "Word!" to all the comments about regaining and the wisdom it brings. I started on my weight loss journey almost 310 lbs... I did a lot of work on emotional eating and started working out and lost 50 lbs to bring me to about 260. I remember how deliriously skinny I felt then! It was such a huge change! Now, at the same 260, I feel fat and disgusting and all manner of not-very-useful negative self talky things. I was down to 220-225 a couple years ago and felt really great at that weight. (i'm 5'9" so I carry my weight pretty well. lucky that way.) A number of circumstances allowed me to eat my way back up to 260. Its amazing that the same amount of weight can look so different. My view of myself has changed.
The good news is, I know I can do it, and I know I can maintain it. I've had to learn the hard way that nasty things like skin irritations, acid reflux, lethargy, emotional swings, etc all result from my overindulgence in carbs. I have lost 8 lbs in the last 10 days and am already seeing many improvements. I will remind myself of that every time I want to eat sugar.
So thanks for helping me on this stage of my journey! I learn a lot from all of you!
Here's my menu plan for the day:
B: 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon, 1 slice cheddar cheese in a small low carb tortilla, coffee w/ heavy cream
L: Unknown... office is providing lunch, but if its carby crap then I will eat leftover meatloaf at home. nom nom nom!
S: hb eggs
D: I think I'm going to get a roast chicken and have veggies with it, then use the chicken to create stock.
I have a bunch of Knorr jars with the canning tops and I didn't even realize I can freeze the stock in some of those jars for future use. Anyone done this? Any tips I should know? I've heard I should leave a little room at the top for expansion. Anything else?
Thanks!

I'm not really sure if it matters, but I also leave the lid off until the liquid in the jar is frozen. Good luck.

Well, my day didn't go quite as planned. I'm low on amounts today. I didn't take a snack to the event at school because I really thought I'd get home in time to get a late lunch. Then I ended up being a dessert judge. That wasn't too bad; we only had a small spoonful of each of six desserts--so six bites in all. And then I got busy at school working on fine arts material and didn't end up getting home until 5:00. So my food today ended up like this:
B--protein shake
L--six bites of desserts
S--Mexican lasagna
I'm still kind of hungry, so I may add some cubed up meat and cheese shortly, or perhaps some nuts. What a weird day! But it was GREAT to see the kids!

I'm with everyone else on the re-gaining weight. It sucks, I don't know why I do it to myself. I'm hoping this time around I can be stronger, and do what's better for my health and not my taste buds.
Have done well today, this is my 12th day back on PP, and I'm feeling good about it. Sweet cravings are gone, and I just feel focused right now. I lost 8.8 lbs last week and will weigh in again on Monday.
Break-3 sausage patties and coffee w/creamer
Snack-Protein shake
Lunch-Bacon cheeseburger no bun
Dinner-Will be bacon and eggs

It was good to get out today and get a bit of work in. And it only poured rain for the first couple of hours.
Today was eggs and smokie breaky, ham and cauli for lunch and leftover roast beef for dinner. I may need another snack later though.
