There is no happiness except in the realization that we have accomplished something.
Henry Ford

Good morning! I'm very happy with my accomplishments in PP. It's good for the self-esteem. :)

Brunch will be a blt egg scramble. Supper will be steak and salad.

I have a whole list of chores to do this weekend; some are left over from last weekend! What are your weekend plans?

I have a lot of cleaning to do this weekend, I've been sick going on 2 weeks now and some things have just haven't got done.

I also plan on exercising 1 day this weekend, if not both.

Not real sure of meal plans for today, but I have a couple of things in mind.

Good morning, all. My plan today is protein shake for brekkie, venision stew and salad for lunch, and LC shake for supper. I have a birthday tea to attend this afternoon, and probably will have a few carbs there -- have no idea what food will be served, but teas usually entail carby items. At least hot tea is innoculous and I can "fill up" on that.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I'm taking my car in for some repairs this morning, to the tune of about $300. :peeved: This is after putting all new tires on two weeks ago.... At least two of the tires are a warranty issue, I won't have to pay for them.

I have some house cleaning to do too of course but I really want to take some time to get into the studio and do some painting. I often plan to do that then get puttering around with other things and it doesn't happen. Oh and I will go to the gym today too, shop for some new tea to try that doesn't need sweetening and get a b-day gift for my nephew.

Breaky will be an omelet w/cheese and ham, lunch is roast beef and I want to do up some pork cutlets breaded with almond meal and parm. cheese (a schnitzel really, I'll pound the pork first) and salad for dinner.

Have a great day everyone.

Happy weekend to all!

My day got off to a kind of late start as far as breakfast is concerned. My brother from Michigan dropped by unexpectedly, so I didn't do anything about food for a bit. I finally had some pb on LC toast just to hold me over. I'll probably have some pumpkin soup in a little while. Supper will be at a birthday party. I'm pretty sure there will be pizza involved, so I'll probably just limit myself to one piece and have some veggies and dip either there if they have them or at home afterward. I should have a protein shake sometime because the protein in all of the above is kind of limited. So--kind of a weird day, but definitely not a honey tree, by any means.

I also have some schoolwork to do--lesson plans and more prepping for Odyssey.

Have a great day!

I am not sure where today will lead me. House cleaning is high on the list. Lot's of other things to catch up on - newspapers have been piling up. :o

Food is definitely high on the list. I have a whole chicken thawed out to put on the outdoor grill. Hamburger readily available. Bought lc tortillas and Flatout wraps yesterday - so plenty of options using them:cool:. This will be an easy meal weekend with all those options. BF was lc crepts with strawberries topped with some whipped cream.

It sounds like everyone is pretty much in control of their food.:D Good for you.

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend. Martin Luther King day on Monday. Great time to be thankful for all the freedoms we all enjoy. Thinking about the troops fighting and keeping us safe around the world and how good we have it. Praying for those in Haiti and hoping that the people there get the help they so desperately need.

Slept in today and it felt good!

Now I need to run a few errands this afternoon before I kick back and relax and watch the AZ Cardinals play some football. (We've been fans of Kurt Warner since his days with the Rams.)

A bit high on carbs yesterday--1830 calories and 56 net carb.

Today's plan:
B'fast: ham, spinach, egg and cheese casserole plus coffee+half & half.
Lunch: protein shake
Snack: peel & eat shrimp during the game, maybe an ounce or 2 of cheese.
Dinner: Left over beef stroganoff from last night.
Later: SF Chai tea, chocolate.

Hope you all stick with your plan today--I plan to.

Karen

Break-bacon and eggs and 2 cups coffee w/creamer
Lunch-salad

Probably will have protein shake later for snack and for dinner beef fajita meat with bell peppers, onions and white cheese dip. All in moderation of course.

Did get my exercise in and hubby wants to go hiking tomorrow.

I have spent most of the day riding in the car. My 15 year old daughter just got her learner's permit so all she wants to do is drive somewhere - and she definitely needs the practice! I am handling this stress amazingly well. In the past it would have sent me running for food (aka major carbs). It seems like some switch in my brain has been flipped. It definitely makes me feel like I have accomplished something.

B - coffee w/half&half, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage links
L - Adobo chicken, Peanut butter
S - Protein shake, 10 Dark chocolate Reese pieces (yummy and I was able to stop at 10 with ease - unheard of for me!)
D - Made Chicken taco meat in the crock pot today so I'll probably shred that and try it in a low carb tortilla w some sour cream & salsa.

Sending prayers to all of those suffering and grieving in Haiti. So sad....

Weekends will be busy for the next few weeks. Our new TV has "connectivity", and I've been wanting to upgrade our network in the house, so I'm running cable, installing switches, configuring a MediaSmart WHS I just started setting up Thursday, reconfiguring everything, and re-doing the family room entertainment niche. Quite a bit of work, but I had to hold off on the construction part of it this weekend as we have a dog recuperating from a pit bull attack Friday (she usually runs outside when I'm using tools, but she can't run right now ... but she will be OK).

I've been doing well and I'm still losing weight. I passed from "obese" to "overweight" a couple of weeks or so ago, and I'm sneaking up ... or should that be "sneaking down"? ... on 200 (I'm at 206 this morning). My weight goal was 190 when I started, but I should probably recalculate again.

Yesterday I was at a fundraising, Trivia Challenge" for much of the evening where you pre-order your meal. I had ordered a salad (an Irish version of a Cobb Salad) and some chicken wings. The salad was small and arrived almost an hour late and the wings were too sweet. The evening was fun but I was over on carbs.
Today will put me back on track.

Here is the second week posting. Not quite as good as the first week, but I should also mention, I am diabetic. Slipped in my eating on Wednesday, and Thursday, had a sugar low on Friday (39) after it had been 213 a half hour earlier. When that happens watch out. Candy, Oatmeal, egg mcmuffins, after that 2 hour episode got back onto plan.

Sex: Male
Age: 47
Height 73"

Date Weight Waist Body Fat % Body Fat Lean Weight Goal
1/3 240 44 27 67 173 195
1/10 232.5 42.5 26 60.5 172 195
1/17 230 42.5 26 60 170 195

It appears lean weight is dropping, but I think that is rounding errors.

just popped in to see who was around and say hi( haven't even logged in for over a year!!!!!!) and it was such a pleasure to see so many old friends.

so HI!!!! you all look so GOOD!! so many of you in maintainance now too.

I'm very well and pretty much where I've been for ever and ever--Maintaining at about 10 pounds higher than I wish.--but so many issues have been solved that I really can't complain--thyroid is under control, menopause finally put to rest ( can't remember the last hot flash) and I didn't gain any weight over the holidays for the first time, oh...probably EVER and even though weight is higher than I like ( and body still doesn't look it's best) I'm only about 1 size above ideal--thank you "slow burn".

I find myself eating more and more purist/paleo all the time--no wheat/gluten grains at all, no sugars, and grass fed meat most of the time. though dairy and splenda are still pretty much constant companions

I find it a little mind blowing to realize that it has been SEVEN years since I first checked out this forum!!!!!!

what a huge help it was over all those years and struggles.

Happy New Year, everyone. I'll try not to be such a stranger this year--and all you Newbies; and those in the middle of the plan; and those just checkin it out-keep on workin it--its "THE WAY":D

What a surprise to see your name in today's thread :D. I'm so pleased to hear you're well. It'd be nice to see more of you this year :).

And I'm always pleased to hear that there is life after menopause .
