Now that you’ve seen a gift for the misguided, here is a present for the discriminating person on your gift list this holiday season. Best of all, this item will bring the gift of health to the recipient – assuming said recipient is motivated enough to read it. And MD and I are going to help keep your expenses down.
Through December 20 (after which it will be impossible to get the book by Christmas) we will give away a 1st edition hardcover (not a paperback) copy of the Protein Power LifePlan to anyone of our readers who wants it. That’s right, it’s absolutely free. The price is zero. (Click here to go to the product page on our website and order if you’re interested.)
The only catch is that we ask that you pay for the shipping, which is no different than if you ordered the book at the regular price. We have a contract with UPS to do all our shipping, so they calculate the shipping as a function of where you live. So, unless you live in Outer Mongolia the shipping should be less than you would have to pay for even the paperback version if you bought it through Amazon. I’m not certain, but I think you can run the calculations and find the shipping before you hit the ‘buy’ button.
It’s our way of saying thanks to all of you who have hung in there reading our stuff and buying your books through the Amazon link on our site.
I hope your recipients enjoy the book.  Oh, and I forgot to add, only one book per person, please.

  1. Hi Dr Mike, this is so very generous of you. I notice that it says that shipping is only available to the US, does this mean that being in the UK, I cannot get one, even if I am prepared to pay for the shipping?
    Glenice
    Hi Glenice–
I’m working on it. I’ll let you know as soon as I figure out how we can do it.

  2. Hi Mike,
I’d love to take you up on your very generous offer (even better if you would autograph it!) – as my prized paperback copy is MINE! … so another copy would be great … BUT … before I go to the checkout page it tells me “Note: Shipping is available only to the United States”. Any chance you could change this? Believe me, I think this country needs enlightenment even more than yours (if that is possible).
    Cheers,
    Malcolm
    Hi Malcolm–
I’m trying to figure out a way to do it.

  3. Great offer Drs Eades. Having already bought and read PPLP, I can thoroughly recommend it to all your readers

  4. Thank you, Dr. Eades! I actually had borrowed the book from the library and was thinking just today that I should get a copy for my very own…to make notes in and re-read at will. 🙂
I wish you, MD and your family a very happy holiday season.

  5. Howdy, Dr. Mike.
I can think of more than one people I’d like to gift your book to, and there doesn’t seem to be any limit on the quantity of free books one can order. If this is a mistake, consider this a pre-order heads-up so the problem can be fixed. Otherwise, I’ll pick up a few and hand them out like sugar-free candy canes 😉
    Merry Christmas!
    David Godot
Uh, let’s make it one per order.

David Blaine’s latest stunt is to break the record for staying awake, and he’s looking to prepare his body by eating rice and raw foods, no red meat, and fish as the only animal product he’ll eat, and he’s using the treadmill for two hours a day.
Go for it, David. I stayed awake once for 4 days straight while I was in surgical training. And even operated. But it wasn’t fun and I don’t think I could do it now. Whether I could do it or not, I wouldn’t want to try.

  7. That’s very generous of you Dr Eades! I was going to jump on this great offer, and had even added some Krill Oil to my basket when I discovered you don’t ship to Canada 🙁

  8. Thanks so much, Dr. Mike, for your generous offer! I’ve purchased 2 of these books in the past and both were lent out and never returned. I ordered the book and also the CookwoRx tapes.
Best wishes to you and your family and happy holidays!
Thanks Carol. I hope you enjoy them all.

  9. What a kind offer. I bought your audio edition of Protein Power and have been interested in getting a newer more expanded version of your info. However, I DO happen to live in Outer Mongolia (alright, Alaska, same thing) so I will pick up a copy at my local book store next time I to to town (360 miles away). It will save me considerably on shipping.
Have a merry one, Drs, and don’t eat too much mincemeat pie!
I have my assistant Kristi working on it. Maybe we can get you one via the postal service.

  10. Thanks, Dr Eades… unfortunately I live in Italy and “shipping is available only to the United States”. What a pity!

  11. Thank you for the great offer!! Im really interested, and would like to order a copy, but Im from the Netherlands and I cant order, because I have to fill in in wich state I live.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance!!!
    I’m working on it.

  12. Incredibly generous of you to do this Dr Mike.
It’s unfortunate I live in Asia.. you could say somewhat “Outer Mongolia” :p

  13. Is it in any way possible for us who DO live in Outer Mongolia to make use of this offer?
    All the best from Finland.
I’ll see what I can do, but it may be after Christmas.

  14. Hi Dr Eades,
Thank you this is so very generous. Is this offer available to those of us overseas (UK)? I guess not because it says delivery only to the US?
    Glenice
I’m still working on it. It may be after Christmas if I can pull it off.

  15. Dr. Eades,
Thank you very much for the offer and I do wish you and MD the best of the season.
However, I live close to Outer Mongolia, Canada to be exact…..:), therefore was ineligible to take advantage of the offer. (Trust me I tried, but the pulldown menu only had US states!).
Due to your generous offer though (and showing the kind of individual you are), I will buy it from Amazon or whoever. I have no problem with that as I truly enjoy your blog and writings!
    Cheers!
Thanks for the help with Amazon. I appreciate it.
I’m working on being able to send books to those in Canada. Our current system won’t let us do it, but I’m trying to figure out how to thwart it.

  16. I got quite excited when I read that shipping to Outer Mongolia was an option. Not that I live in Outer Mongolia but I do live outside the US and was disapointed when I found out that you don’t ship outside the US.
It is a generous offer to your US readers though and a very nice gesture.
    L
I’ll see what I can do.

  17. I took your comment about Outer Mongolia to mean this offer was open world wide, but the online shopping system insists that shipping is only available in the US. A hard-cover version of the book would never have been lent away again.

  18. Doc-
That book is STILL the best source for information regarding health and living/aging well. Not to be too much of an ass-kiss, but you and your wife are two of my heroes.
    Robb
Thanks for the kind words, Robb. I’m glad I can be someone’s hero. And I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the book.

  19. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I already have two copies, but as others have said, mine too are falling apart from reading them so much. Each time I read your books, I come away with something I hadn’t noticed (or fully understood) before.
You and your lovely wife are so generous with your time. I hope you understand just what you’ve done for all of us. You were the ones who introduced me to low-carb eating in the late 1990s, and I’ll be forever in your debt. I shudder to think what my life would be like now had I not stumbled upon Protein Power.
    Hi Kathy–
Thanks for the kind words. MD and I really appreciate them.
Hope you sent for another book that’s not quite so tattered.
    Cheers–

  20. This is a great thing you are doing. May you (and your wife) get back the amount of health thus delivered to your readers 🙂
Unfortunately, for us living in “Outer Mongolia” it is unavailable, because shipping from your online store is only for United States. Anyway, no one I would like to give it to understands english. So, I admit in the case I could get it, I would be selfish and keep it for myself.
Nevermind – thanks to blogs like yours, I was able to get better cholesterol ratio (thus dodging statin treatment) while eating healthy full-fat foods.
    Happy holidays! 🙂
Thanks for the holiday wishes. I’m working on figuring how to get books overseas. I’ll keep everyone posted if I get the problem resolved.
    Cheers–

  21. Thank you so much! I think I’m going to be selfish and keep this hardcover & give away my beloved paperback to my father-in-law. If anything can sway him from a lifetime practice of low-fat eating, it’s your book.
    Good luck!

  22. Hi, Dr.
The website said my credit card didn’t go through (though I tried twice), but the VISA folks say it DID register. Sooo, you may have a double order from me; feel free to ignore the duplicate.
Thanks for sharing your passion with us all year round…
I’ll make sure that Kristi makes sure you don’t get double charged.

  23. Hi Doctor,
I’m so glad to know you’re working on resolving the problem of shipping overseas.
I’m so interested, we have plenty of doctors with their “balanced diet” end “balanced meal” based on spaghetti/bread/pizza here in Italy. Low-carb message normally sounds very strange here. They always say: “Beware the fat, beware the meat”.
A friend of mine’s father was diagnosed with pancreatic carcinoma some days ago.
He said : “Strange, my father doesn’t smoke and he doesn’t eat meat almost at all…”.
    All this is very sad.
    Marco
p.s. – We’re waiting for your coming here again, Doctor/s… two “Fiorentina steaks” and a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino are waiting for you… always.
    Marco
It’s very sad indeed. Photo of the steak looks great. I’ll take you up on the offer next time I’m in Italy. Are you in Firenze?

  24. Hi Dr Mike, just wanted to wish you a very happy holiday season and thank you again for all the wonderful information you share with us. If you can manage to organise shipping for this outside the USA evenutally, that will be great particularly if I can get it signed by you. I’m planning to buy a couple anyway to give away to people, the one from your will be to keep in my own collection.
I have a coming battle ahead as my total cholesterol came in at 7.0 (273) and I have no intention of allowing the doc to put me on any drug for it. My HbA1c though came in at just on 6.0 (108) not bad for a type II of 10 year standing (but hoping to do even better than that nedt time). 2 years ago it was 10 (180). I am arming myself for my cholesterol battle, I’m going to give my doctor Kendrick’s book “The great Cholesterol Con” which I am reading now, very easy to read it is too. What do you feel about a TC of 273?
I digress, thanks again – for everything, and enjoy the holiday season.
    Glenice
I don’t feel much of anything about a TC of 273. What’s important – if anything is important – is what this TC is made of. And most important of all is the LDL particle size, which is the only lipid measurement that correlates with heart disease.
If I figure out how to send the books overseas I unfortunately won’t be able to sign one for you. The books are shipped from the state of Idaho, which is a thousand miles from where I am.
    Cheers–

  25. I’d love a copy but apparently it only ships to the US? What are we Canadians supposed to do? 🙂
    Hi Krista–
I’m working on it, but it will be after the first of the year before I make any headway. I’ve got your name and email. We’ll be in touch.

  26. I’m near Rome (Cassino), but I’ve some friends around Tuscany, where I love to go and… EAT (oops… and DRINK) !
The best meat in Italy… (unfortunately not ‘only grass feed’).
    See you soon… 😉
    Marco
p.s. – What’s the best way to ask you something about the diet, Doc? You don’t have an e-mail address, do you?
I’ll get in touch next time I’m heading for Rome. You can reach me at dreades at gmai dot com, but I’m inundated with emails and don’t know when I can get back to you.

  27. Thank you for the book. I ordered some Krill oil too. Would it be tacky to put it in my hubby’s Christmas stocking? 😉 He’s been wanting it for a long time.
My original book has traveled to many places and has been read by many people.
Thank you, and have a Happy Holiday.
    Hi Karen–
Thanks for the holiday wishes. I would like to be there when hubby finds the krill oil in his Christmas stocking. That’s got to be some kind of first.

  28. Thank you for the book!
And thank you for having written it in the first place, enabling me, and thousands of others who don’t live near enough to have gone to your clinic, to gain our rightful health and enjoy our lives more!

  29. Great offer. Thanks. But did you run out of books before I placed my order on December 10? It’s now the 21st and no sign of the book. I did receive the auto-email confirming my order when I placed it. Maybe it will come today.
I’ll check on it. Don’t worry, though, I’ll make sure you get one.
