I just got word that there will be another sale tomorrow of a bunch of low-carb books on Kindle for a mere three bucks apiece. Last time a sale like this came around, I didn’t find out about it and get it up until halfway through the sale, and a lot of people missed out.
This time, I found out a little earlier. I wouldn’t normally put up a post like this right on the heels of the last one, but some many people missed out because I didn’t know about the sale and, thus, didn’t get it up quickly enough.
This list of books includes a number of books that were available last time plus a few new ones.
One of the new ones is The Poor Misunderstood Calorie by Bill Lagakos that tells you everything you need to know about calories. In fact, after reading this book, if anyone ever challenges you with any questions about calories in versus calories out, you’ll be prepared. It’s an excellent book that I purchased long ago in both paperback and then Kindle format a couple of years ago. Unlike you, I purchased my Kindle version for $8.95. You, however, can pick it up for a mere three bucks on Wednesday, May 20.
Another book that is sure to become a classic is Richard Feinman’s The World Turned Upside Down. A great read and filled with great info. If you didn’t get this one last time, grab it now.
Same with Judy Barnes Baker’s Nourished. It’s a real treasure of a low-carb cookbook.
Here is the line up.
Keto Blocks by Jennifer Matthews
Periodic Fasting: Repair your DNA, Grow Younger, and Learn to Appreciate Your Food by Cristian Vlad
Practical Keto Meal Plans for Endurance Athletes by Patricia Daly
Keto Adapted by Maria Emmerich
Nourished by Judy Barnes Baker
The Poor, Misunderstood Calorie by William Lagakos, PhD
The World Turned Upside Down: The Second Low-Carbohydrate Revolution by Richard David Feinman, PhD
Misguided Medicine by Colin E. Champ, M.D.
Understanding Keto by Jennifer Matthews
The Low-Carbohydrate Diet for Triathletes by Ben Greenfield
Ketone Power by Cristian Vlad
I’ve noticed that some of these books are already up at their $2.99 price, so you don’t even have to wait till tomorrow.
As I said in the previous post, if you have a review or an opinion on any of these books, please chime in in the comments
Thanks for the heads up and for what you do. Love your posts. Still utilizing your books all these years later, and yes, “This is the one!” Give my best to Dr. Mary as well.
Renee
Thanks for the kind words. I’ll pass along the message to MD.
Many thanks for giving us the opportunity to tell your readers again about RECOVERY FROM TYPE-2 DIABETES: A TRUE STORY narrated by Bob (the subject). Today, a couple of years later, Bob has retained control of his BG and maintained his weight loss, all on a LOW-CARB diet
All royalties go to Bob – the kindle is regularly priced at $2.99
Thanks for the heads up again on this one. I purchased it myself.
Technically Principia Ketogenica is on that list – I’m leaving it at $3 bucks indefinitely. (though I don’t know why Amazon keep changing it up and down ~$0.15 cents and not just sell it for what I list it as)
Who knows why Amazon does what Amazon does. Drives us crazy moving prices up and down in tiny increments on our sous vide units.
For those who haven’t gotten it, Principia Ketogenica is a comprehensive look at all the research available on the ketogenic diet. If you’re interested in ketogenic diets, it’s a must have book. Especially at three bucks.
I’m sure I speak for all the authors when I say thank you for making this event such a success, Dr. Eades!
And thank you for writing such a great cookbook. We use ours all the time.
Of course Judy, all of us are grateful to Dr. Eades for helping spread the message! And Ash, you have to be with us in our next one!
Nourished, which I just bought has rather a lot of grains in it. Not just oats and barley, but also pure Gluten (the crazyness) in some recipes. Well, at least I didn’t spend a fortune on it…
Nourished is a low-carb recipe book, not necessarily a Paleo cookbook. I should have stated that, I guess. MY apologies. Still, there are many non-gluten containing recipes.
Leo, a few of the recipes in Nourished contain gluten. I included a gluten-free alternative flour mix for the breads, but plan to revise it in a second edition. I am now 100% gluten-free myself and all the recipes are my blog are as well. (The most popular recipe on my blog is my Gluten-free Yogurt Biscuits–http://carbwars.blogspot.com/2013/03/gluten-free-yogurt-biscuits.html).
Nourished was written before all the books like Wheat Belly and Grain Brain were published when everyone thought only those with Celiac’s disease were affected by gluten. Live and learn!
I had to remove your blog link from my blog roll list, due to your incessant book promotions. I am sorry to let you go but it was too boring to read. Regards,
Stan (Heretic)
As I wrote several months ago, I’ve been having huge issues with the theme for my blog, causing me to spend vast amounts of time to write a single post. I’ve got a new theme in the works that may be up today. I’ve put up exactly three posts over the past three months telling my readers about the availability of low-carb books at steeply discounted prices. I went through the brain damage to do this because a) the posts were short, and b) the book deals were both very good and time sensitive. I put up the last of these because many people were disappointed because they missed out on the first deal, which I didn’t know about until it was already underway, and consequently wasn’t able to get it posted until there was little time left. Having said all this, I wouldn’t exactly call three small posts over three months “incessant book” promoting, but, hey, to each his own. As the old saying goes, one man’s meat is another man’s poison.
Dr. Mike, congratulations on your new Blog Format – VERY attractive, clean, and neat. We wish you every happiness – and relief – with it.
We do not know if the comments on “last time” will be erased, so we are not taking a chance and putting in another plug for Bob. RECOVERY FROM TYPE-2 DIABETES: A TRUE STORY is a small, information-packed book designed to help the newly diagnosed diabetic understand what is happening to him/her. In one chapter, Bob describes the ups and downs of the first six months of his recovery. Today, a couple of years later, Bob has retained control of his BG and maintained his weight loss, all on a LOW-CARB diet.
